I’ve been for the last 2 years, I’m giving it a miss this year as my mate who I go with is abroad.
It is relatively highbrow and there are a lot of people in salmon trousers (and virtually nobody in baseball caps and trainers) but it’s not so snobby that you would feel out of place. I go down from Yorkshire for it!
It’s not the biggest of events but it is certainly different and a quirky location in a cricket ground in the City. The cars are usually quite fascinating and there’s an interesting theme. You may see that it’s a regular feature with Harry Metcalfe and I would say that if you enjoy his videos and his collection then this would be up your street.
As it’s quite small I’ve got the afternoon ticket. This is from 4pm and gets you in until it closes at 7pm, which is ample time to see everything more than once. The cost was £25 (not sure of this year’s fee) but that also gets you a large G&T thrown in.
Thank you. Sounds good, I’ll get a ticket booked. It is relatively highbrow and there are a lot of people in salmon trousers (and virtually nobody in baseball caps and trainers) but it’s not so snobby that you would feel out of place. I go down from Yorkshire for it!
