Yep. But excuses are irrelevant, he has until the summer break at the latest - he either earns the seat or he doesn't. If he doesn't, the excuses/reasons won't matter.

The inconsistency, the occasional great drive, more often jogging around the midfield being generally unimpressive and largely forgettable. That's what's predicatable.
Exactly. What is perplexing is why anyone expects Ricciardo to not simply return to the mediocre performances he has been turning out for years on the back of the (very) occasional good showing tbh.

I imagine, for those that put him back in a car, it's because they have access to the data that suggests there is something impressive stubbornly hidden within him.

Feel free to imagine anything you want to fit your view about Ricciardo's seemingly particularly well hidden driving abilities....

I'm not imagining anything. It's a matter of fact that those with the data put him back into an F1 car.

I'm not saying they were right, in fact it's looking like they'll be proved wrong.

He's bang average these days and will be out of F1 in the not too distant future.

He would be an icon and draw huge crowds / following if he went to IndyCar.

Time to move on while you have some dignity left Daniel. Please.

Well, perhaps it was just the tyres on this circuit that upset things. Agree he wasn't the only one to struggle.

If we take this weekends error out if the equation, his time with the new chassis is looking okay at least.

I know we can't forever more say 'he needs more time', and I know that's become a joke... But I'd like to see a few more outings for him. I'm sure I will too, I'm thinking he's got until the summer break to sink or swim.
Yup if you disregard his poor performances he sure does look good.

He's well below average. He has scored points once in 7 races. A median driver scores points in a race.

I agreed. He would be really popular in IndyCar, and competitive. Would love to see him make the move sooner rather than later on his own terms.

I hope he keeps pulling out an occasional blinding performance, just enough to keep his seat for another year, just to annoy the people who don't like him.

I really like the guy. But it's a bit weird to hope any driver clings onto a seat if they can't actually justify having it.

Especially with the backlog of excellent drivers waiting in the wings from F2 and the like.

If he keeps his seat it's because the team thinks he deserves to keep his seat. What some internet randoms think is irrelevant.

Its not that people dont like him (everyone seems to like him!) but its no good him holding up that seat from Liam Lawson if he cant score any points.

Apparently it's not as you want him to keep his seat purely to upset the supposedly irrelevant internet people..

He should keep his seat if he deserves it, I agree.
