There have been plenty of F2 champs that simply can't seem to make the jump to F1.
Money and politics plays a major role. Tsunoda wouldn't be there without Honda, Zhou wouldn't be there if he wasn't Chinese, Sargeant wouldn't be there if he wasn't a wealthy American, Stroll wouldn't be there if his dad wasn't bankrolling him.I can see half a dozen of the current F2 field getting promoted next year, there’s obviously quite a bit of dead wood around in F1. The problem comes when F1 themselves (FOM/Liberty) want to see an American and a Chinese driver, and can find ways to pressure the teams to make those decisions.

What do the likes of Enzo Fittipaldi expect from their future careers?
this is his 3rd and a bit season of f2 even if he were to walk it no-one in f1 is going to be looking at him?
JNR career is nothing spectacular as well.
De Vries won on the 3rd year, Drugovich on the 3rd year, etc. this is his 3rd and a bit season of f2 even if he were to walk it no-one in f1 is going to be looking at him?

If they don’t make it to F1, they can be hired by FE, WEC, or try INDYCAR.
Here's the timetable that includes the support races -

Anyone know the broadcaster for the Supercars? Are they on the Sky schedule, as they’re not on F1TV. Likely to be a bit more fun than the Carreras we usually see in that slot. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article/formula...

Cool, will take a look if I can’t find another way of watching. Thanks for your comment on the race thread as well, appreciated!
No worries - the guy seems a total jerk. It's when I like this little corner away from the main thread! Sandpit Steve said:
I think I got him banned from this thread a fortnight ago, for some horribly misogynistic comment about the Academy races. He’s not posted anything other than provocative bks, and I don’t understand why he created an account three years ago but decided to only start posting a fortnight ago. Perhaps a hacked account?
Good work if you have got him banned - he's the very last thing we need in this thread. And yes - timelines do seem quite strange.I'm hoping to see as much of the racing as possible this weekend but Australia is always a hard one. I used to leave the club and go home to watch the race - those days are gone

They do less overtaking than the Porsches at the moment.

Somehow Nikola Tsolov has avoided a race ban and has been given a 3 place grid drop and 2 penalty points for punting Alex Dunne off the track.
I think he's got away very lightly there.Castellet said:
Don’t understand your second sentence.
She was the deserved race winner, but was negligent in not seeing the chequered flag, and had to be penalised, as it was dangerous to maintain race speeds after the race had ended.
If she’s as good as people are suggesting, she’ll learn from the mistake and be even more focussed on winning the title.
Coming back to thisShe was the deserved race winner, but was negligent in not seeing the chequered flag, and had to be penalised, as it was dangerous to maintain race speeds after the race had ended.

Its quite clear from her onboard that the chequered flag as not visible at the line, as it was hidden behind a lightboard, that was showing, nothing
Quite why they didn't put the chequer on the lightboard as well I've no idea, but it was an error by the organisers, not Pin
Instead of understanding that, they doubled down and penalised her instead
Her engineer is also culpable for not ensuring she knew the race was over

I think he's got away very lightly there. But I think we've all seen enough of motorsport and the FIA to know that what happened and what they do about it are seldom linked logically.
