Fairly certain it was a 106xsi in about 1993Ronnie oSullivan did some racing then promptly slagged the sport off. beefy Botham did a race but I don’t think one offs count in this thread.

Mark Thatcher (Margaret Thatcher's son) raced a number of times, several times in Group V World Championship for Makes championship (the then version of the World Endurance Championship), although is best known for getting lost on the Paris-Dakar.

Main names are Steve Mcqueen and Paul Newman .... Newman even did Daytona in his late 70;s and was on the pace .Dempsey ( my team mate owns his Le Mans RSR ) and Fasbenber both with Dempsey, Proton team ... All actors . Also the late Steve O'Rouke the `pink Floyd manager ......remember the EMI 993 GT2 R , who had Nick mason drive with him once as well...

There were a series of celebrity races at the Silverstone Classic for several years, in both Abarth 500's and Morgans. A few just took part and didn't take it any further, but Rick Parfitt Jnr was one of them and he's stuck with it becoming British GT Champion and BTCC driver.

James Martin had a crack at the Millie Miglia once, I remember there was a documentary about it on telly. Terminally ill-prepared if I recall correctly.
