Hard to argue with that. A few of us have a friends bet on who will be champ this season and Ryde’s name popped up.

I have said for a couple of years now that I just don’t think he will ever be a BSB champion. There’s

The coverage this weekend was a st show from my pov.

Eurosport on Skyq only picked up main race for n Sunday and nothing else.

Tried to go into disco plus app which is free for my and when I go to bsb, it says I now need tnt at £38/month…..

Hate all this pissing me about

It was on DMAX with full live coverage on both Saturday and Sunday. I only knew because it was mentioned in this thread, though.

Totally agree about the Eurosport shenanigans. I only pay for Sky to be able to watch BSB and WSBK so it annoys the hell out of me when they mess around with it.

Dmax is poor quality though on a big screen. Eurosport should have an extra channel which they can push stuff off to when they need it.

They usually stick it on Quest which is HD, not sure why it ended up on dmax.

I was happily watching it in glorious HD on Discovery+ at home then wandered to see dad and he had it on dmax. Thought I’d developed cataracts on the walk there!

As said, it’s not HQ for one, plus I don’t have time to watch live , and prefer to catch up in the evenings…

Pisses me off when they move it around on different channels too. I rarely watch live, and just set a series link and forget about it.

Can't see how it's beyond the wit of man for the Tivo box to detect this and record the right channel.

Same. My series link picked it up but I didn’t realise that Eurosport didn’t have race 2 on Monday so I deleted the dmax and then had to recover it.

I thought the quality was because of that but obviously not. Never mind HD it can’t have been more than 380 or whatever the lowest is. It was a bit like watching a 90s fast bike vhs copy of a copy.

Not disagreeing with you in any way. I thought you weren't aware it had been broadcast/drawn-in-crayon on DMAX.

I also tried using discovery+ in the past and that was a waste of time because the options were only to watch it live, even if you've missed the start, or wait until it all finishes and then appears for catch-up later.

I also find that even when full coverage is on Eurosport the SkyQ box doesn't always correctly series-link and so it misses some of the 'episodes' for no good reason.

And God knows why they can't fire up another Eurosport channel when needed. They manage it for other events.

I know of 3 Riders now Who have used that type of Bell Helmet where it has come off in a crash.
It has some kind of twist system in the lining so the shell rotates around the lining.
That's interesting/worrying...

I recall that Chrissy Rouse wore Bell helmets but no idea if his fatal head injury was in any way related to that issue?

I started watching on DMAX, but found it unwatchable such was the quality.. just bad, really bad.

Sadly, Motorcycle racing has always been the poor relation when it comes to coverage on tv

Been out of range of any sort of internet connection for a few days.

FHO - still seem to be having issues with the BMW,yet Skinner and Haslam don't, very strange.
Honda - Bridewell is riding the wheels off that thing and if he could just get better starts, he could be fighting for race wins

Ducati - good round for Iddon and nice to see him back at the front again, Glenn Irwin doing what i expected him to do but as someone else said on here, after round 3 we will have a much better idea of how things are going to go.
Yamaha - Good round again for Kent but not so good for Vickers and Ryde is having some problems it seems, you have to think that if Ryde doesn't get a grip on things and sharpish, he will be looking for a different ride next year.

So good to see Skinner up and about and fingers crossed for those hurt during the melee on the F900 warm up lap
I think Haslam was having a few problems too with the BM
Even if Ryde swaps teams, his problem is himself, that bike and team is more than capable
I agree about Haslam and also Ryde, it's not like the bike and team is poor, Ray won the title with them so the bike is good enough and Kent is regularly top 3 so far this season, so Ryde needs to be making big inroads into the title hunt

Been a Ryde fan for a good while, but I just think he lacks that killer instinct when it comes to a win….

He seemed to be there or thereabouts last year but this year, i don't know what it is that is holding him back. Who knows, he could go on to win a shed load for the rest of the year and be in the title fight by the end of the season but on the evidence so far, it's unlikely

It’s two sides of the same coin but I think Ryde’s problem is that he doesn’t see himself as a race winner.

If you don’t believe you deserve to win a race it’s easy to end up backing off even if your conscious brain doesn’t think that’s what is happening.

I suspect Ryan will beat him this year, and be in with a shout for the title in the closing stages
Vickers is very calm and composed and appears to be super analytical about set up and strategy - that’s the stuff that gets consistent results
There’s no doubting that Kyle has unbelievable raw pace though
If put Kent as a good shout for highest placing Yamaha this year too

Ryan Vickers is managed by Roger Burnett and I think coached by Alan Carter, two motor cycle racing icons.

His rider coach is Roger Marshall. Really seems to have made the difference for Ryan, as well as joining OMG.

When using Discovery + you can join in the action anytime and choose ‘watch live’ or ‘watch from the start’ then either FF to whichever race you want, works seamlessly every time for me.
