Good Afternoon,

I have been looking for a while now for something a exciting to drive at the weekends. Many years ago, I had an Integrale Evo, but have not had anything that you would consider a drivers car for some time.

So, I started off on a research journey at 2+2 cars. Started with Aston Martin DB9, then 911's to finally landing on the Evora. It's quite amazing to see Youtubers like Harry, JayEmm etc smiling when driving one.

Trouble is, there are not many for sale locally. I had pretty much decided that the 400 is the right one for me. However, a little out of budget is a really nice GT Sport 410. I can stretch the budget a bit to make it happen. My question is, is it worth the extra money to have a 410 over a 400? I would have preferred a manual, but this 410 is IPS. Does it matter?

Any 410 owners, I would really like to hear from your experience with ownership. Are you happy?

I am replying to my own post as I realise the Evora community is quite small.

Pretty much decided that for me the 410 just isnt worth an extra £10k-£15k over a 400.

And that is probably the right conclusion. Also manual v IPS is very much down to personal preference. As a confirmed manual driver, I was very surprised with an IPS Evora test drive I had a couple of years back. I thought it was rather good!

Good choice. I've had my 400 for 4 years and love it.

Thanks guys, very grateful for the input.

Yes, I did see the 410 at ST. But its not the GT 410 Sport.

Well, the budget has gone up and up as I have changed the type of cars I was looking at.

Looking to keep it under £50k really. There is a very nice 410 not far from me in Bishop Stortford, but thats adding another £10k to the budget.
I really like the metalic grey colour. Currently considering a 400 thats in Scotland, although I really didn't want to be travelling that far.

Because these cars are quite rare (all Evora models), with less than 1000 on UK roads, if you see the right spec/colour you will almost certainly have to travel unless you are very lucky. There also isn't an abundance of these cars for sale, so I suggest you jump on whatever fits your requirements no matter how far away smile

N.B. I travelled from the south coast of England to Edinburgh for mine....

Well done Andy - I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! Post pics when you pick it up, and enjoy the inevitable road trip back to Essex smile

By the way, thelotusforums is a great resource for all Lotus owners and has a lot of Evora owners that post.

Considers a Lotus on Sunday, purchases on Tuesday biglaugh I wish I had your decisiveness! I've been umming and arring over various cars (Lotus and otherwise) for 12months now.
And I'm living in the Midlands and bought my last Evora from Edinburgh - all the good Lotus seem to end up in Scotland, guess it's the roads up that way.

I did see the one in Glasgow, looks a good example, alcantara seems look a lot nicer than full leather. What made you decide on the IPS in the end?

Haha, decisiveness!!! I have been on Autotrader, watching JayEmm, Dadcars on Youtube every night for months.

Once I had decided on the Evora, I found I really liked the Grey colour and there were only two for sale with 2+2. The 410 in Bishops Stortford and the 400 in Glasgow. I would have preferred manual, but having 2 out of the 3 was good enough.

Congratulations! I picked up my GT410 Sport on Friday - and like you having done many days of you tube/forum research there were slim pickings for what I wanted. But ended up with the red one BAM had for sale.

What a machine (said in Clarksoneque tones). In past 4 years had a 430, 355, 991.2 GTS, Gallardo Performante, 991 GT3 and a McLaren 650s. It has the best bits of these cars - the gearbox of the 355, the noise of the Performante, the steering/pointyness of the GT3 and the (partial) practicality of the GTS. And the looks of all of them.

Have the seat issue - new bushes being sought - but apart from that it's fantastic. And, in my view, looks amazing in red. Small enough to properly enjoy UK roads, can take 2 of the kids out in comfort (the seat behind me is useless re my driving position) but that means school runs are doable, rare and a go-kart with doors.

Enjoy yours!

Have just recently bought an incredibly lightly used 410.
Wonderful thing to drive and can highly recommend them..
Fortunately this one was for sale only 10 miles from me smile

Andy,

I'm in the market for an Evora (I think), and went and test drove that same car last weekend. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Unfortunately I'm awaiting funds being released so couldn't get stuck in.

Did you get to drive it before you purchased, or did you buy sight unseen?

I am really pleased to hear that Dr Rick (not that you have missed out on the car, but that its a good one). No I have not been able to see it or drive it. The dealership did a video for me.
I was planning on going up to get it next week, but it's half term and flight tickets from Stansted have changed from £40 to £200. So I may as well wait until the week after.
