How about a variable speed bench grinder with a polishing wheel fitted?

Be careful with anything that has lots of torque like a bench grinder as you don’t want fingers hurt, trust me….i have an amputated finger trying to re knit right now from a diy accident and it doesn’t look like I will ever feel anything again with the end of that finger.

Yes indeed. I lost the end of a finger on the tailgate of a 3 tonner many years ago. But that's another story.

There are some (mickey mouse?) DC bench mini- belt snders on ebay.
I'm not aware of a disc version, but you can get a whole world of sanding discs might do the job using one of those old cordless drills with a dead battery that many of us are hoarding?
