I just took delivery of Starlink today, I live in Haute Vienne.

Within 2 mins I was getting 144mbps, and just now I checked it was 250!!!!

I am sure it wont be like that all the time, but I am impressed. Worked out of the box, 15 mins to get it going and its pissing down and cloudy but works a treat.

Hey Andrew. Might be worth getting a permanent mount. I now regularly see 300mps plus with my Starlink. Are there many people in your area using Starlink too?

So having had a very successful trial in France.

I have decided to switch away from BT and have a Starlink professionally installed in Kent.
Lets see how this goes.

We have been using it for about 18 months in our semi rural location in Worcestershire.

After dealing with the st show that is BT Openreach, and a guaranteed 5mb, for £25, Starlink has been utterly flawless.

I wfh all day, and it is rock solid. Speeds around 200mb

Cheers

Update on our Kent Installation

Ordered the Kit
£225 plus £75 per month.
Arrived in two days.

I wanted a permanent installation and the property is a bit complicated needing coverage to several buildings.
In addition we're surrounded by tall trees.

So I called in Wear Communications and they scoped the job.
A week later they installed a fantastic setup giving us coverage everywhere, even 150m to our gate.

Pre Starlink Speed: 3.5-6 mbps
Starlink: 200mpbs

Farewell BT!

Our Orange fibre is kicking out these speeds as I type this. Transmit speed 325 Mbps and receive is 422 Mbps im not ‘tech y’ in any way but mine seem superior to that Starlink.
Or am I missing something?
€39 a month with a phone and free calls into the uk.

£75 a month and paying up front for the gear seems a bit steep given the mediocre performance.

All good if you have a remote property though I suppose

In the UK it's £75 a month hence the comment.
