I have the best single garage. Not because it's amazing, not because it's anything special, but because it has all my tools, motorbikes and flying machines in it. biggrin

Apparently it doesn't have a camera in it. Poor form.

It looks so cool, with this blue and white theme!

Mine is less flashy:

That looks like a good size, what have you got planned for it, apart from being home to a car..?
I’m still considering. I’ll probably paint it white, put some pictures up, overhaul the workbench area with some decent tool storage. Maybe some flooring. I definitely want some quick jacks. I don’t think I’ll line and insulate it, don’t want to lose any space. It’s detached so might be a bit chilly, but it’s still better than outside, which has been my only option in winter previously.

There’s no rush. I’ll just enjoy all the lovely space for now.
So… almost 12 months later, what’s happened? Not the above, obviously!

Over the Christmas break I managed to do a bit of organising. I got some wall units, which enabled me to move all my storage to one side of the garage and get rid of some old units. The net result doesn’t look much better but there’s more room around the car, which is good. My vision still remains, but this is the slowest of slow burning projects! biglaugh

Very much a work in progress but this is a terrible pic of my new sanctuary. But it's mine!!! Need to get downstairs bathroom sorted then I can justify some cash spent in here...
Better pics to come

It’s a start! Just using normal interior emulsion. It’s Leyland’s from Screwfix - I’ve used it before and I’ve been quite impressed by its coverage and opacity for a reasonably budget paint. It seems to have gone on ok, though I’ve got three different types of surface to cover.

The breeze blocks drank the paint - I felt like I was ladling it on. The more decorative brick has deep pits in the face so that took a while, but the majority of the wall is the smoother brick which isn’t too bad. I only had a 2 inch brush though!

Could take a while to finish the whole garage. And do two coats.

Site visit to the new build we've recently bought meant I was able to get a proper look at the garage. Never had my own one so fairly excited. I've worked wonders with the very little space I already have at the current home so reckon I'll do alright with an internal 5.4m x 2.95m! It's going to be a snag fit with a BMW F11 in there so think I'll utilise the back half for a home gym, storage and bench unit and retain the front half for working under cover with half the car inside the garage. Already pricing up a few items like flooring, etc but I'll trawl through the rest of this thread to see what others have done with the space above - keen to utilise it if I can.

Nice, fit it out and paint it before you put anything in there!

At the moment it's far too much of a mess to photograph, but this will suffice...

Hoping to! We have a storage unit for everything at the moment so I am hoping to get some clearance and a day to smash the preliminary work out the road first. Be great if I could paint and floor it first of all...

It’s a slow process but I’m getting there. Haven’t quite finished the walls but I’ve taken advantage of the long weekend to get the floor done.

From this:

To this:

Now I have the opportunity to organise as I put everything back in. I’ve also got some wall decor to go up. It’s taking shape.

Any updates or new ‘singles’ about?

In the process of turning our car port into a garage. Some great ideas in this thread.
