Why change the habits of a lifetime todate?
Marley is also 3 (last month) and still sees Amazon parcels as prime shredding practice.
He waits near the gate for them to arrive and pounces.....
He also has a thing about my wife's hiking socks, but thankfully not mine.
I wasn't going to post this, partly because Gretchen's post made it hard to see the screen earlier, but perhaps now you have posted.....
Marley is the one with his tongue vrtually on the floor, after 15 minutes of teararsing around the park with these three.
They are Jasper the Airehead, Kylo the Vizsla and Victor the Fresian cow.

I'm a few days late here but Antony, I'm so sorry to read about Archie.
Thank you. It’s still very raw and I’m thinking about him all the time. It’s odd times that get you - when my wife pulls onto the drive I’ve very nearly said ‘Arch, who’s at the door’ as he’d always look out the window then hop up and down at the front door, or coming down in the morning and he’s not sat on his rug looking up, turning the lounge light off to go to bed and not letting him out for a wee, or my daughter not realising we had post because she didn’t hear him barking at the postie!Anyway, he’s back home now and sat in front of the fireplace along with one of his toys. I kind of like him at home and now he’s here I’m not sure about scattering his ashes. We’ll see how it goes. It’s been easier talking about him at work as the week’s gone on - a lot of my colleagues are friends on Facebook so saw the news but haven’t necessarily seen much of me this week. Kept it together though - just - but it’ll take some getting used to. I’m sure it’s something we’ve all gone through as pet owners so apologies to all if I’m being a bit of a drama queen here, I guess we all deal with these things differently.

WRT the ashes - all I'll say is don't make any decisions in a hurry. I buried the ashes of the first dog I lost (because that's what my parents always did) and have regretted it ever since, especially as I have since moved. I do have a nice little stone name plaque for her though that I've still got. Every dog I've lost since, I have kept their ashes. It's what's right for you.

You have not been a drama queen at all. Losing a beloved pet is so hard to deal with

Reading about Archie this morning has made me very sad. As a former BC owner I loved seeing pictures of him enjoying life and I'm so sorry, Anthony, for your loss. How you're feeling at the moment is completely normal and very similar to how I felt when we lost our beloved Ellie. It lessens over time but you never forget them and eventually your memories will bring a slight tug of missing them but lots of smiles too as you remember the joy that they brought you.
Thinking of you
