Manchester city rent a stadium for around 6 million a year, rather than having to build one themselves.
They are owned by a nation state.
They may have broken an inordinate number of rules to gain advantage.
It all adds up to such an advantage that to me they are an irrelevance and i just couldn't give a toss about their achievments .
It just feels false.
So i really don't care as much as if it were man utd.
Man City to me are Maine Road, having numerous managers, yo-yo ing between divisions, and Peter Swales as chairman........

With Peter Reid as manager and everyone hailing Franny Lee…

Agreed about City. If it was youse winning 4 in a row my head would’ve fallen off about 2 years ago, it barely registers when City do it.

Even when they’re given the inevitable slap on the wrist for 115 charges, I still won’t care.

City are a div 2 team for me as they were pretty much most of my childhood. Mind you Everton were competing for titles then, so it shows how things change...

Leverkusen just finished the league season unbeaten, winning their final game. Incredible season and still two cup finals to come.

An incredible achievement from Xabi and his team. Winning the finals would surely be a "this has never been done before" moment.

I've got a feeling Slot might be an interim coach.

I don't think he'd leave a permanent job where he's doing well, for a temporary job.

Slot has been picked for continuity and to carry on what's in place. It will only be short term if it doesn't work out.

Tomorrow is going to be emotional.

Klopp made us the best team in the world for a period.

The best years of my life as a Liverpool supporter.

I love him to bits.

I feel he'll be interim in the sense that, like Rodgers, he'll be binned when genuine class becomes available.

As mentioned earlier he's got a tough first season ahead of him. Limited time to work with the squad in the summer due to international tournaments, tired and potentially injured players coming back, challenges with any potential transfers and then the new more intensive CL format to contend with once the season does get going.

If he can manage a top 4 PL finish under those circumstances he will have done very well.

Slot will only be replaced if he's not meeting FSG expectations.

As much as I will miss Klopp, the LFC mawkish social media milking machine seems to have been in overdrive and quite nauseating. Skipped most of it as I'm still on holiday. Doubt I'll see the match either - will no doubt catch up with highlights next week.

Roll on next season!

I haven’t watched any of the farewell stuff… I know how I feel about his time with us.

Fabulous manager and the individual. Brought us success beyond our highest expectations and will be much missed.

Bloody hell, give him a chance. Fired before he joins

I have found some of the coverage a bit mawkish as well, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I am surprisingly gutted he's going and today is the day.

We've obviously won quite a few things but it's reminded me that football isn't all about the winning. The trophies have been great but it's been more about the excitement the highs and the lows. Even a seemingly duff season last year had the 7 nil dicking of UTD.

Well played Arsenal for being the ones to push city to the last day this season.
