When it comes to TVR’s, I prefer the early 60’s ones, *however* what I would say is that car looks really well done, and at £15k it looks like an utter bargain.

I like that a lot

T5 'box much better than the LT77

I even like the gold wheels

As already mentioned seems a very good price to me if it's as good as it sounds/looks

Oh, and chavvy indeed! Plonker comment

If I were UK based, I think I'd buy that.

I am not very up on used UK TVR prices, but this car seems very good value these days.

You just know when you look at the state of the owner’s driveway and property that this is likely to be a very well sorted car.

TVRs are madly undervalued generally imho apart from the Sagaris and a certain Speed 12 that sold at auction for £600k the other day.
But I'm hopelessly biased as a long term owner of the things.

I REALLY like the way this has turned out. I can also relate to the decision to sell as I too am one of those who finds planning a project the most enjoyable part (not that I am remotely qualified to take on something like this).

As for the wheels, I know they are a Marmite choice of finish, but personally I think it makes sense (from a colour wheel point of view) to combine deep blue with gold, and it doesn't feel out of character for the car - there are certainly more outlandish combinations that I can think of.

This should be 30k! What a great value. You can have it for years, drive it (it wont rust... to much) and then sell it as a "classic" for double the money. I'm really suprised, it is not sold yet.

I think like everyone else it just looks superb value for what you can spend on other modern classics these days.

Never liked TVRs (too badly engineered, too chavvy) but if I did get one I’d definitely want one as well sorted as this and with galv chassis.

There’s nothing at all chavvy about TVRs.

They aren’t badly engineered either. Just not very well made.

I guess this is as chavvy as a Pagani Zonda is council rotate

I love the classic shape of the Chimaera and I do like the colour combination of this one, including the gold wheels.

This is such good value for the work that's gone into it. The complete rebuild all the way down to replacing all hoses is amazing. It's a shame I have neither the means nor the space to buy this and own it.

Much respect for the current owner bow

I'll do a weekend swap for a (roughly) £15k Cayman S! Looks like a lovely car and credit to a lot of hard work.

Interesting as i have a doggy TVR Chimaera, and a mint, fully built 986 Boxster track car running GT3 Throttle body, GT3 brakes, KW variant 3 coil overs, limited slip diff etc (I say all this as it genuinely is a no expense build). I’m on the verge of selling the Boxster because as brilliant as it is, it just lacks the character that the Chimaera has, and I want to build my chimaera into something similar to what I’m reading about here. Horses for courses and all that, and I get the owners view on buying a cobra, but less so on buying a Porsche, unless it’s a daily driver..
That being said, this Chimaera looks fantastic and will make a great purchase for somebody.
Also, fun fact, the TVR Chimaera and AC cobra run the exact same wheelbase dimensions to the mm. I also wanted a cobra… smile

15 years ago I wanted to buy a cobra, but ended up with a Griffith, which under the body is the same as the Chimaera.

This Chim is bloody nice .
