I dress like I fell down the stairs and landed in the laundry basket. Neither of my cars are washed. So I guess, the answer is, "Yes." biggrin

I recently did the opposite. Had to attend a formal meeting and as it was at the other end of the country I went in my campervan and made a long weekend of it.
Stepping out of the van wearing a suit and tie felt a little odd.

I'm concerned now that I've misunderstood the world again.
Me too. This thread has filled me with such self-doubt now.

Patched corduroy trousers held up with the same baling twine that holds the Volvo estate's rear hatch closed?

I let it begin with my first MK3 Cortina - Platform shoes, Pin-stripe suit with big lapels and a kipper tie. Topped off with a black Samsonite briefcase.

Then there was my Volvo Estate - Barbour jacket, check shirt and a flat cap. Accessorised with a pair of green wellies in the back.

Now, my P38- For any meaningful journey - Gilet with a Land Rover logo, Brown cords and another check shirt (Larger than in the Volvo days!) I'm toying with a pair of Churches and a Baker boy cap. Is that a step too far?

BMW Targa is getting nearer to being finished - longest restoration in history - I'd have thought baseball cap and a bomber jacket but that's just not me - 'specially at 72 years of age! Maybe a 'biggles' outfit - What say you?
P-38 you say? Chapeau!

I have an estoril blue BMW.

I have an old puffa jacket that I slob around in that happens to be a similar colour and without thinking, I wore it last week.

Once I set off, I thought "I hope people don't think I am trying to match up to with my car, that is almost as bad as wearing a WRC Subaru jacket and cap while driving a Subaru".

This picture was taken at Goodwood.

It wasn’t deliberate but my outfit, the Waitrose bag, thermos of tea, wicker hamper are SO cliché!

I even have a black Labrador so even my dog matches my car. biglaugh

So no, I don’t do it but instead bought a car that suits me.

If that makes sense!

I will add that period music for period cars is a thing.

I’ll start a new thread for that…

Surely the dress is for what your doing once destination is reached? For me either gym/dog walking or work gear as I seem to do not much else at the moment!
Unless you don't have a destination.
After 18 years of Caterham driving, it's a change to jump into a car without having to think about suitable clothing.

Nah, I don't bother. I dress universally ste regardless of what I'm driving.

It's kind of a given with a C63, to see an unshaven guy in an oversized t-shirt and trackies puffing on a vape, getting out of it, but I'm guessing there are probably some double takes when I do the same in a Ferrari.
