Sorry my brain cannot compute that having 4 less cylinders is an upgrade! I agree with the earlier poster: buy a 850 CSi instead.
This is the correct answer for me too. You still get a manual gearbox, but it is mated to a V12 rather than a V8 though. Bigger is better in my eyes. Still Mulling said:

Change the wheels, then yes. Even being termed 'restomod', they've not gone too silly on the price. Fair play!
The deep dish 5 spoke allows on the old E34/E38 models would have been perfect.British Beef said:
I have an E39 M5 in the garage, and the engine and gearbox are perfect, but rust has got to the body and chassis, the suspension and brakes need a major overhaul.
Would take some military grade man maths to justify using as donor for making one of these....
The E31 conversion is in my future, if you want to sell the E39 as a donor, then shoot me a messageWould take some military grade man maths to justify using as donor for making one of these....

Ah, I see. Simplistically elegant as they are, there were too many twin-leg 5-spokes in Max Power when I was a kid for me to be in love with them. I also didn't know that those that I posted are known as throwing stars. They are now even cooler to me!

The wheels are def too big. And I would keep the V12, it's what makes this car... just make it bigger for more power. M70/73 can be enlarged to 6 litres of displacement.
I'm with you I think too. You can get loads of cars with V8 engines, but not so many with V12's though. So I'd prefer the original engine left in, but with some tweaks/upgrades to it as you say. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
