Pretty straightforward (I changed mine last week).

Get a new grommet for the bulkhead. On mine I had to reuse one of the cable adjuster thingy's on the catch, my kit only came with one adjuster and no grommet.

Before you take the old one out have a good look at the existing set up and check the open and closed position (you can use a screwdriver to engage the latch without closing the bonnet).

I threaded a long tie wrap from the engine bay into the footwell so I could find the hole from the inside.
Once the old one is out, thread the new one in and put the nut on. Thread it into the engine bay and reconnect everything, there's supposed to be a bit of slack in the cable with the lock released. If you can't get the lock to engage with the screwdriver you probably need a bit more slack. I'm going to threadlock on the screw nipple in a pit just for peace of mind.

Check the lock and release a few times with the screwdriver. I tied a but of string onto the lever and draped it acrtoss the engine so I could release it if there was a problem when I tied it for real (there wasn't).
