No, it's not "widely taught"...
...and that's the message I'm getting directly from teachers.
M
Because teachers don't teach it.

Alternatively, just leave it to Darwinism, as being self aware and performing your own dynamic risk assessments, is an important life skill.

M
Classy, let disadvantaged kids die.
The State can save them! As it happens The State would have problems saving 2p in a piggy bank.

Ahhh... Playing the old emotive language card coz you (or even their parents) can't be bothered teaching kids important life skills.

"Educate, don't legislate."

Keep digging. Adults can be scumbags. Doesn't mean their kids deserve to die.

Obviously should a kid be responsible for a collisio with your car you'll be straight to the parents to explain Darwinism.

Like every council delivers in every school? Like in Swansea?

Well then, back to the stats coz they show the road safety education being delivered isn't doing the job (or at least the message isn't getting through to boys & young men).
Unless you're an orphan, road safety education is down to your parents. Any that expect schools to do it for them are simply abdicating their responsibility.in that regard. Mine fulfilled theirs and I've never even been close to being involved in contact with a vehicle as a pedestrian. then or since.

There's a huge spectrum of bad parenting that exists before being an orphaned child. Even then, an orphan would be in the custody of adults, be it family or local authority.

Adult pedestrians get hit by cars all the time. Clearly they're not always a good example to the next generation.

Speeding cyclist who crashed into pensioner, 81, while racing at 29mph in a 20mph zone avoids prosecution after she dies - because speed limits don't apply to bicycles, court hears.

An unfortunate demonstration of vulnerability and a law that perhaps needs updating.

Looks like complete parity with motorists from what I've seen.

When it comes to fast cycling (the lycra mob), the UK is like the wild west, It seems it's ok to ride flat out with your backside off the seat, head down while wobbling side to side without looking ahead to assess the risk to other road users.

If it had been a car driving at 29mph, there probably wouldn't have been an accident because the driver would be calmly looking where they're going.

The law below should be used more often.

You've just killed what's left of this thread.

You should've started a new one.

hehe

in fairness this thread is pretty much pointless now - we've got one side who are arguing logically against another who, being full of bullst and bluster just shout "nahnahnahnah, can't hear you, not listening"
