Exactly that.

As I said earlier in the thread, he should have received the same sanction as his manager Pat Mooney i.e. a lifetime ban from snooker.
bks, It's not a fking disgrace, and no he shouldn't.

They both got set-up, and he didn't know even about the meeting etc in advance. He got the fine and 6 month ban for his part in the whole thing, but didn't actually fix/throw a match. Mooney could have taken him down with him, but thankfully didn't.

But obviosly the armchair experts know better than the authorities.
Agreed
Another wild guess, but are you Scottish?

For clarity my comment was that the NOTW actions were a disgrace, not Higgins

What makes you think that? biggrin If it was the spelling, you'll have to forgive me as I just finished a decoke on my bagpipes and my hands are slippy.

I'd hazard a wild guess that the people against him are maybe not Scottish. Funny that.

I'll always support Scots in sports, be it individuals or our national teams however poor they are, as I'm sure all nationalities do. Therefore my starting point with Higgins is as a fan, but that doesn't mean I'm totally blinkered, and I'd feel the same about the Higgins situation if it was his fellow class of '92 rivals O'Sullivan or Williams for example.

For reference, Hendry was my sporting hero growing up.

And for the record, no, I'm also English.

Those supporting John Higgins are not sport fans. How he was allowed to play the game again is unbelievable. Cheating f@K.

Two st guesses in a row for you it seems. Can you give us your guess for who will win the championship so we can bet against it?

On the BBC captioning, why does Jak Jones get first and surname, buy everyone else gets surname only? Apart from the Williamses who get initial plus surname?

And why didn't Jones get the ref to put the white back behind the pink after that amazing snooker and put Bingham in again after Bingham ended up hitting the black?

Because he needed snookers. You can't keep putting your opponent back in if you need snookers. You need to create a whole new snooker

Ah right. I thought you could put your opponent back after any foul.

Because Jones, there's hundreds of them, and there's currently a Jamie Jones.

Fair enough, doing well here aren't I?

Bit like Jones at the moment - what's that, 7 missed attempts to hit a red on the trot?

Couldn't say, not been watching the match despite working from home this afternoon, since apparently I'm not a sports fan.
