This is now under 30k
Looks a level car, both tops and loaded
Unusual interior colour,
Bit of you RR???
Mind reader or what !!!, Still haven't bought a new laptop, nipper to busy at work to hold my hand through the mindfield of computers in PC World.

So took another trip to the library this morning ,now on first name basis with the staff there,

There are seven 57 T/Birds that have been hanging around now for some time now ,this is one of them ,

The best thing about the library is they have proper computers with large photo's and writing for my useless eyesight

and i can get a better idea of the condition of the cars especially the hidden away places like the shuts ,engine bay ect

Apart from one which is only about 50 miles away which looks lovely in baby blue it has remained at the asking price of £40K for at least

9 months now ,the rest are in York Norfolf and this one in the middle of Wales ,Tempting now with the second or third reduction
I’d have another in a heartbeat,
Absolutely loved mine , serene wafter,
In my lottery winning garage one would have pride of place ,
Ford undoubtedly has built some special cars,
The 57 ‘ bird is up there with best !

Yep, would be top of my list if I hadn't gone down the '32 Ford route......
I love this lemon yellow one for sale in Belgium (and only half hour drive from tunnel)..........looks lovely, but I bet its not cheap!

RR, you could drive up to NaT's and pick him up, for his expert opinion, and be down through tunnel and at the dealer and back in blighty in just half a day wink

Yes that will be expensive plus now we have to ad tax's to it since leaving the EU,

Depends if you want to win cups or have a nice but usable one for cruising down to the beach with the boys on a warm simmers night.

Love those 50's pastel colours , Beaulieu Garage recently had a pastel pink one with white interior for £100,900 but it was out of the box,

better than new i would say, Although it's gone i don't think they sold it as it's neither on their for sale or sold list,

Like most of their stock probably on s.o.r and gone back to the owner,

Probably quicker to drive to Belgium and back than York,Norfolk,North Wales , Hull and Cumbria ,i've even been offered one in Spain on British plates

Three red cars with white hard tops one being local but don't really like red cars for some reason.

There's another pink car in New Castle but the owner doesn't want to sell which is shame as that would be my number one choice of colour.

It's a shame they are so far away apart from the blue car but doesn't look like he will move much on the price which i think is to expensive .

Distance didn't bother me having bought cars in Scotland and far up the north but now every long distance journey takes twice as long as it use

to a few years back , Nice problem to have i suppose but instead of a adventure i see these long trips it as a burden ,

Still with summer almost here i need to get my finger out as i want to be on the beach not the M25 on a hot sunny day.

Yep, I'm not a fan of red cars as well.

As far as '57 T-Birds go, I wouldn't want one in red or black.

Don't really like white either, but white is just about OK with a red or red/white interior as a contrast.

Wouldn't have a black one not with all those lovely 50's colours to choose from,

Whites ok with red or two tone interior, Turquoise blue makes baby blue look a bit washed out ,think it's similar to the 56 Peacock blue,

There's a Salmon Coral Plnk colour i like as well, Don't know why there's ao many red ones about,

Seems like i'm being a bit picky but if a decent car hoping it will be a keeper so might as well try and get a colour i really want to live with.,

Do like that pastel Lemon ,not seen one in that colour although my mate had a bright yellow 55 ,

That dealer in Belgium who has the yellow one, also has an equally mint Coral Pink one for sale as well.

The mint green is also very nice.

Given that American Racings Torque Thrust has been the most popular choice of wheel for many years with its typical polished rim and grey magnesium 'look' centres I was wondering (not saying I'm gonna do it!) what we all of me refinishing my original Coddington JYD wheels similarly for my Vette.

So this?

Or this?

And yep like these , you just can’t beat the polished rim and any of the Argent centre finishings.

I've always preferred the grey centres to polished or indeed colour coded. To the point that I want my 15" TTs refinished with grey centres, instead of the Fathom Green they are that currently match my car.

Grey makes the design of the wheel pop more, I think. Dark colours lose you the detail, and polished is cool on a restomod, but not a car like mine.

Yep it’s not much of a deal refinishing the centres ,
There’s a couple of different metal finishes on ARE’s
One real smooth and the other is a kind of rough cast ,
Obviously the forma is the easiest to do!
The tricky bit is getting them Matt and durable,
So probably best to use a dedicated Ali wheel refurbisher

Very much so. Would have been first thing I would have done if the car was mine, repainting the wheel centres to look more like they were new in the 60's.....

Like these 1960's originals.

Can't go wrong with any of these colours, spoilt for choice ,would end up coming home with all three of them.

Agree with the boys, The contrast will bring out the green paintwork more, I took mine to the " The Wheel Specialist" they have shops in most area's ,

They made a fantastic job but there are so many paces now that will do the same job.

Just noticed Budgie's Plum Crazy Challenger RT is entered in Iconic's May Auction,

Was on Car&Classic's auction a few weeks back after not selling on a classified ad,

Can't remember what he was asking or what the top bid was now.

Looks like another one that could end up going back to the States to find it's true value.

I’m assuming this is the high option car,
Seemingly been advertised for ever!
High end yanks just don’t have the following here , and as such won’t make anything like the stupid prices being asked and assumedly being paid?

This is why it’s very important to keep stuff like restoration costs at a sensible level if possible!
All to easy to blow big money especially where 50 quid an hour and 1000 plus hour resto’s are concerned!
Factor in parts costs and original purchase price, 80 plus K is very easy to exceed!

It’s seems it’s gone full circle just like Jags and Bug Healeys American cars being worth much more back home ,
And now XK’s are absolute fortunes in the US
With complete basket cases fetching big money,

Mad world……

Talking of XK’s
Watching a absolutely brilliant full nut and bolt strip down of a OTS filmed in stop motion,
Totally mesmerising!
Shame I don’t know how to put up the link as it’s very cool!
