Just finished it, a little predictable at times but a solid enjoyable binge

We have given it and 8 out of ten

Never played the game

I'm heartened that people who haven't played the games have enjoyed it nonetheless. Occasional trolls notwithstanding.

For me, it is a love letter to gamers who have played the games. And I was worried that people who had not played them would be in the situation of "this is what you get for reading other people's mail". If that makes sense.

I am so glad that my worries were unfounded.

The reviews of none players is why we watched it.

Always get fans loving lot hating any adaptation so tend to ignore those reviews

Is there anything like Jack Ryan, Reacher, Night Agent, Night Manager etc?

Not in to gangs/drugs, but love spy stuff and political/financial thrillers.

The answer to that is Slow Horses. It’s amazing and I think better than the ones you mention. But sadly it’s on Apple.

This sets the tone:

I've not tried Fallout, mainly because I'm not a huge fan of apocalyptic zombie stuff.

Presume it's not really one for me?
Just watched a 2012 series called Hunted - the ending let it down a bit but it was a solid spy/criminal/political thriller otherwise. Looks like it might have been on the BBC in it's day as they are listed as co-creators so you might have seen it. 7/10

I think I'm going to be the first dissenter for Fallout, we watched the first episode on Saturday and just not feeling it - not sure why but might give ep 2 a go and see if I can get into it a bit.

I watched Roadhouse and of course its never going to be as good as the original but a lot better than expected.

Quite humorous in places and Jake Gyllenhall is always good albeit the size difference between him and Connor McGregor was stark.

I'd give it a solid 6.5/10.

Robodoc - documentary of one of my favourite movies, Robocop.

Really enjoying this. Fascinating insight to the movie and a fair bit of ad libbing by some actors.

Oooo I hadn't realised this was on Prime, I'll check it out. Seen some clips of it and it looks very well done.

I'm struggling with Fallout. I'm not a gamer, and although I quite like zombie films, TWD bored me (too little story spread out for too long).

Anyway, I AM a huge fan of Walton Goggins so I really tried but by ep4 I found myself distracted and I've suspended watching the rest for now.

I love the original Robocop film. So much more to it than a lot of people think. I will definitely give this doc a go. thumbup

Started... and finished Fallout yesterday! Mrs.9 and I enjoyed it! Can be a bit zombie-ish in places (not a problem for us) but looking forward to the next series!
How the hell does someone sit down and watch 8hrs of tv in one day. Baffling.

Theres been a few deals on UHD film purchases on Amazon - 3.99 to own - i've picked up Blade Runner Ultimate Cut and a few other scifi (think T2 remastered is also one) - its under a "prime film deals" section via the TV app

Well, you say "own" but does anyone really ever own anything digital that has DRM and is linked to a platform, and which could be unilaterally taken away from you at any time?

But, that aside, good to know!

edit: I'm taking delivery of a 4K OLED telly shortly, which is going to bump me up from a 720p plasma and an old 1st gen Amazon Fire TV, to being 4K-capable so I will definitely go have a look at these. Thanks for the tip-off!

Meh, it's something you enjoy so what's the issue? People run marathons or do iron-man triathlons for fun - each to their own
