Go on then….what do the locals say? It can’t hurt to tell us what the local story is?
Hearsay has no meat on the bone, you'll not get a reply.

Maybe? there is more to this story than a burglary gone wrong.

Visited friends in an adjacent village today and if the local 'news' is true an extraordinary tale wink
Mods, can we have a :tapping nose: smiley for posts like this?

I read it as such as well. If there had been a weed farm at the errrr... farm, then I am pretty sure the police would have mentioned arresting someone for it.
Not going to link to the local FB page but there are dozens of comments referring to 'grow' and 'weed'.
Probably shouldn't have brought it up tbh, speculation, etc.
There are certainly allegations of the dead burglar being involved in the supply of weed to local children.

Can’t see why you wouldn’t link to something on Facebook?
Puts a new perspective on the Mail's quote that 'He lit up a room'.

Unfortunate use of the term burglary.

The Buxton Advertiser Facebook page must be busy deleting posts, limiting who can comment etc

Following through a few posts leads to all sorts of claims.

Scumbag burglars going equipped

Druglord violent farmer who shot his dog dead in a pub car park once.

Farmer protecting his drug grow

Competing gofund me pages for funerals and legal fees

Local drama!!

Given that dibble will have gone through that farm with a fine toothcomb and not apparently found anything of note, never mind a load of weed, that's mostly bks.

I went to school with Rob, haven’t seen him for years, but if he’s become a violent drug lord he’s undergone a remarkable transformation

The drug grow seems fairly unlikely. The scrotes were arrested for aggravated burglary so they may have been armed though.

It seems the farmer was burgled the previous day so he may have been waiting for them. Unfortunately might harm his defence if he was lurking out in a shed with a spot lamp and his 12 gauge.

Whaley Bridge is more Royston Vasey. Go drinking there and you'll soon find out. Found myself in a pub staging a young farmers karaoke night a few months ago. Illuminating, but not unpleasant.

Its interesting because i was reading a thread on reddit about people who have killed and what was it like.

There were several posts from people who have killed home invaders, there was one who shot some meth head because he was banging a knife on his car window, none were out and out 'im off out to kill someone tonight'

Most mentioned how the police questioned them and then off with no charge, even getting the gun back.

Of course its the internet so could all be lies but i assume most of these posters were in the USA so perhaps the case.
