Aww great dog pics 
Seth and I camped out in the secret garden at the house last night and had a BBQ as a precursor to some wild camping. He loved it though did growl a bit through the night at the abundance of wildlife noises. One thing I learnt was I need more Steak, he enjoyed his piece and most of mine. He didn’t want to leave this morning.
We are out to a village pub for Sunday lunch today. Seth thinks ‘Daddy’ should go away more often…

I was given a tent last year. Pretty decent quality but needed a couple of small repairs. So I mended it and pitched it in the garden to get familiar with what went where and so on.
Cookie watched with interest.
I got in the tent and called her in. She stood outside the entrance with That Look. The one that means "Nope. Don't think so. No way, José".
Then I took her on an overnight trip to the Isle of Gigha. She changed her mind when it got dark and came in out of the cold.
She was an utter PITA. Wouldn't settle and growled at the slightest sound all night.
Never again. She likes her comfort and I like to get a bit of sleep.
I love her to bits but like any JRT she has her own ideas about how the world should be run!

Most small canines get their retalliation in first as it were, snarling and spitting, but not Longbottoms.
They just say hello and ask if he wants to play.
And Marley transforms instantly into a gentle playmate, far away from the rough and tumble hooligan he is with big dogs.

They are a very big character in a very small package, though some can have a tendency towards knob headedness Lovely little characters, they seem blissfully unaware that they were born minus stepladder.

Nev is pretty chilled at present. He loves other dogs and is always up for a hello and a sniff.
We used to walk a route past a block of flats and one of the first floor flats has an enormous long haired German Shepherd who appears to live outside on their very small balcony. Every time we walked past he'd go absolutely mental, meanwhile Neville would sit himself down and look up as if to say 'are you quite alright up there?'
Had to change routes because I became rather concerned it was going to jump off the balcony one of these days.

I’ve got a few tents, expensive blackout ones, family size, mid size etc but this I found in the barn is so light (I initially thought it was just a bag of poles) and took five mins to put up. Not even sure where it’s come from. It’s really only any good for decent weather and a few nights though. Perfect for me and Seth. I was given a tent last year. My Lab and Border Collie would never settle in a tent. Panted and paced all night.
I wanted to get Seth used to it as soon as possible. Although he’s been sleeping on the boats/in vans since the day I picked him up I wasn’t sure how he’d take to the canvas. He’s loving it. We camped out again last night and walked to work this morning. Will hopefully introduce him to hammock camping in the next few months too.

If he carries on with these expensive tastes we’ll be living on the land in the tent like hippies permanently

Misty's digestive system was a little sensitive to a sudden change to rich meats.Once upon a time, we were going on holiday to Yorkshire. We stopped by the beach on the way so she could have a run and a play before being stuck in the boot of the car for a few hours. We also stopped for a bite to eat in a pub.
Two old ladies had been eating on the next table and had since finished and left. One had abandoned half her steak on the plate. So I thought 'bit of a waste, let's treat the dog' and snuck it off the plate. I passed it down to misty, who maybe thought about chewing it for a split second before there was a gulp and it was gone. Quite a big bit for a small dog.. I was ready for the standard 'dog choke' performance.
On to our holiday accommodation - we were staying in a 500 year old manor building. Very creaky floors, very very creaky stairs.
At about 1am, the dog does the very uncharacteristic thing of waking me up by standing next to the bed making groaning noises.
So I got up, shoved my dressing gown on, took her down the stairs as quietly as possible and went straight out the front door intending to take her around to the lawn. She only made it 1ft outside and onto the drive before squatting. The jet of liquid and gas was probably audible from Lancashire.
Right in front of the main entrance and not something I could sort with a bag....
So out came the torch and I went rummaging around outside setting off every security light until I found a hose reel. Took that, connected it up to and outside tap and proceeded to wash down the driveway.
At that moment, I realised I'd caused enough of a disturbance that the owners might just head down to see what was going on... at which point they would've found me at 1am in my dressing gown watering their gravel.
Dogs...
