The MK3 MR2 is meant to be a brilliant handling little car.

This is the facelift variant I believe.

Wow, they have shot up in price! Pretty sure they were £500 for a good one not long ago!

As someone else said, once you lose the steels, the engine and other trim bits, like the expensive fog light grille inserts for missing, it kind of stops being a rally in anything but a shell.

And that is before inspecting it, which will no doubt bring up fixes needed on a 156k mile french car.

Nothing wrong with a 16v Rallye, mine was converted and went like the clappers.

Do miss it, a very raw driving experience.

I’d be looking at a Z4 3.0, or maybe an R53 / R52 S. Loads of fun that you can wring out.

So, your 106 Rallye dreams have been shattered.

But do you really want to be welding up sills and refurbishing rear beams?

This cropped up today on the Swift Sport owner club. Might be some food for thought. Looks a nice example and will make for fun and frugal motoring. Literally fill up with petrol and drive.

I know it is not rear wheel drive and not a convertible. But...

Oh wow. Good spot! Thank you! I'll take a closer look. Not a million miles from me either

It is not on marketplace just on a group called "Suzuki swift UK" so you would have to join the group to see...

The dents are as follows...

Basically a £150 repair max from a dent removal company.

106 Rallye now that's a blast from the past! A mate had a S1 years ago and it was such a hoot! They are getting on abit now though and must be rather collectable.

He went onto a 172 cup which was a good fun got hatch, light weight no thrills etc. for me it would either be a 172 cup or a EP3 CTR.

350Z no contest.

Though it depends what you want, if you value sound and playful-ness i.e. drifting on demand then its the best bet.

I avoided them for years as I'd heard they weren't that great but boy was I wrong, most fun I've had in a car.

Not for the faint hearted, with cheap tyres and a bit of rain you'll be lucky to drive anywhere in a straight line!

All depends how sonorous you like your cars, for me a fun has to have a 6 cylinder engine.... therefore its a z4 for a straight six, Nissan 350z for a v6, or boxster for a flat 6.

I've had all three, and a 986 boxster with a sports exhaust is truly heavenly.

Personally never see the appeal of a fwd hatchback, in any form. If its just you and the car and no other requirements, has to be two seater, rwd. Hatchbacks are for the wife to drive to the shops.

Funnily enough both my missus and my eldest daughter asked me why I'd bought "a girls car" when I had the F56 Mini Cooper S as well! hehe

I did really enjoy the 3.5 years that I had in it in fairness to it though. It did exactly what I wanted it to do for me at the time for sure. I've currently got 3 RWD cars and 1 4WD car, so FWD is definitely not my usual go to though.

Abarth 500, not the best car in the world, but somehow it just works and is loads of fun. Would be great buzzing around the new forest.

See... this was the original plan. I spent the tail end of last year overseas and for some reason was fantasising about having a yellow Abarth 595 Comp for fun... but when you look at the price of them compared to what you could buy? Hmmmmmmm

Well the gym being the destination is just a justification for leaving the house to drive for fun... that isn't aimless. - the main point being it doesn't need to be especially practical or comfortable for long distance / motorway etc
