Some more progress, slower than anticipated,
Still need to do the rear pads, brake lines and then bleed the system. Sump back on, oil filled, fronts all on.
Got three aerosol cans of Waxoil and some AV30 which is an aviation protectant, will use that to brush on, maybe wire brush the subframe, basically just lash some underseal about, its not really crusty for a nine year old FIesta but think it could do with a little help now so will get that done whilst its up in the air.

It’s finished but during the test run, seem to have blown a boost pipe off so need to go and re attach that, don’t mind admitting it made me jump, brakes seem good but got a lot of needing in to do before I can really lean on them.
The rear anti roll bar has made a difference, very noticeable on the couple of roundabouts I have been round.

Cheers chaps, some fully finished shots, the slightly wider spacer on the front has made it look more square if you know what I mean ?
Its one of those that kind of looks standard but a standard one next to it would look quite different.
Need to book a track day when I have bedded the brakes in.

Got a refund, made it clear that they either provide the shipping confirmation, a refund or have me haunt them forever, I mean, come on which would you choose
Have ordered from EBC direct, bit annoying as Olivia from EBC messaged to say its going to be a month so have suggested that their website was not exactly truthful about this prior to ordering and that they should perhaps sweeten the deal seeing as I have a track day due, well I would have booked one if the car was ready.
Took a £383 hit as prices have gone up, but, its only money
Will hopefully do the sump this weekend perhaps, though the wife has furniture moving plans so will see, will get some tyres ordered and look at TD dates, preferably Oulton Park as its nearest but maybe Anglessey, got relatives local we stay with.
Plan is to book my dad and two of my sons on as well, my dad did a few track days on bikes so if he is up for it he can drive, or passenger, my eldest did the last one with me and is a proper petrolhead, my middle lad isnt a massive car fan, his thing is music but hopefully he will come and have a drive, only passed his test last year. My youngest lives in Frankfurt so not really practical, and his license is auto only. Hopefully we can get it all organised and getting three generations of J4CKOs ragging my poor Fiesta to death.
Decision now is which TD tyre, or just use the PS5s that are on it ? Got a spare set of wheels so will get them mounted on them, bit scabby but will do for track wheels.
Sorry to hear that you didn't get the brakes in time but at least you will get them eventually! Depending on the mileage you'll do on the day, I'd possibly want to put TD tyres on, I did a day on road tyres and they felt absolutely fine tbh, the PS5s should be quite nice too.Have ordered from EBC direct, bit annoying as Olivia from EBC messaged to say its going to be a month so have suggested that their website was not exactly truthful about this prior to ordering and that they should perhaps sweeten the deal seeing as I have a track day due, well I would have booked one if the car was ready.

SiCo developments have a terrible reputation. Heard nothing but bad things.

Just caught up on this, I remember reading it when you'd just got rid of your 135i and bought this, it's come a long way!!
Brakes look brilliant, I love the "standard but not" look of it, I'm very much in the less is more camp cosmetically.
Cheers, like that “Standard but not”, nicking that.Brakes look brilliant, I love the "standard but not" look of it, I'm very much in the less is more camp cosmetically.
I think it’s a few small changes that sort of accentuate what they look like normally and it’s difficult to put your finger on what’s different.
Just never gelled with the BMW, maybe should have given it a chance and modded that, but would always be an auto, and whilst I like autos as a fun car it has to be manual.
Will likely get something else this year as a daily and keep this for weekends and track use.

I don’t suppose you live in the St Albans area. Last week I was a couple of cars back from an older gent leisurely driving a clearly lowered, immaculate race red ST down Coopers Green Lane?
“Older gent”, but I am only 23 ! Actually hang on that’s in my head, am 53 so that is accurate, especially in terms of Fiesta ST owners. Though there are a lot more older owners out there, think as it is similar to the stuff we had when younger but without the agro of owning a classic hot hatch, my cousin is a year younger and he has got one as well. I am based near Manchester airport so wasn’t me.
One thing about being a bit older is you tend to have a bit more disposable income, I got married at 24 and had three kids by 29, never had the money before so it’s good to be able to do this now.

Good thread chap, kept meaning to comment being a Mk8 ST owner myself with some frightening similarities to you, 53 err yup, got married at 24? errr....yep, 3 kids...? errr yesss, I was older than you before I started though! Car looks good!I am based near Manchester airport so wasn’t me.

Anyway, brakes are obviously on but getting a scraping noise, had them apart but cant find any witness marks of anything touching, the clearances seem fine, appreciate as floating disks they can be a bit noisy but that clicks and spring noises as they bed in, this is a more a rhythmic scrawp that increases with speed, mainly when turning left.
Any ideas ?
Have emailed EBC.
Its driving me mad and dont really want to drive it if there is something amiss, all went in well enough.

Isn't backplates/dust shields, is it? If fitted.
Possibly some grit between a disc and hub?
Failing that, slam on the anchors from 100+
Hopefully not run out on the discs, but they are under warranty.

Have just had a dial gauge arrive so will check all is true.
There is a very complicated run in procedure, not got to anything other than fairly light braking, and to be honest its not exactly compelling me to drive it right now making all the noise, the clicks from the floating disks are fine but this sets my teeth on edge, am away for a week from Friday so it can wait until I get back now.
