Insurance firm are so far bloody brilliant and have got me a car, and have already got the Ranger Rover booked in to the local range rover approved body shop
It needs a fair bit of metal work doing as I dont just want it full of filler so will be talking to them and asking for photos of the repair before filler
Back to the Murcielago. As mine is a Pre-LP early car, the front brakes are a bit rubbish
I have today collected a pair of the 8 Pots of the later cars and through the owners groups have all the other parts needed to upgrade the front brakes
Calipers will be getting a full referb to gloss black to match the originals
Yes I have one red and one blue currently

So a few updates to the 3 people who are reading ramblings
Range Rover has eaten through a set of rear pads in 3k - Seems I have a very bad calliper, Ordered a new TWR unit and will get that on this week
Should hear back soon about getting the repairs done following the lorry hit and run too
Murci calliper's have been sent off to be fully refurbished - When they come back I will get to getting those fitted up

Insurance company have finally approved the repairs to the Range Rover
Sadly, all the needed parts are on back order with no ETA as of today

Oh the Audi 8s... All 3 are right up there with some of the best of the cars I have had. I really REALLY regret selling the D2 Sport. I really loved that oneI’ve wanted an S8 for many years, never quite had the funds to get there though.
The build quality of it was the best of the 3, far better than the D3 which was much newer. For its age it was so well loaded, rear window blinds, heated seats all round and those seats in the front! Just perfect - I am getting misty eyed talking about it
The D3 W12 - What a mighty machine that was! Mine was an odd spec, it had 3 options, sport seats, sport steering wheel and something else minor - No rear climate etc
But it was fabulous! I bought it and then sold the D2
At some point in its life, someone spent A LOT of money having the car repainted in green (now an in vouge Audi colour) - You could only see the original paint within the engine bay or under the carpets
I ran it as my daily for a good 18 months - But as I do 22,000 Miles a year in my daily it was getting a little silly on fuel so moved to EV for my daily (Polestar 2)
The last, the S8 - What a absolute perfect car - Comfortable, fast, like biblically fast - It had downpipes and a Map and was dyno'ed at over 760hp. I have had and still own some fast cars, this was the fastest when moving by a long way!!
It came to me when one of my best friends pasted away suddenly - I would have kept it if I had the space - Its now with the same person who bought my w12 so I can see and drive it when I want.
If i was looking for a single car, it would be right at the top of the list - It even did stupid MPG on the motorway at nearly 40mpg
I never had any major trouble with any of them, I did 20k in the D2, 30k in the D3 and about 3k in the S8 - Neither needed more than kept on top of servicing in my time.
The S8 had all the recall work done and a PCV valve in my time as it was knacked but all done FOC by Audi which was nice
Post man has brought me a gift I have been waiting for.
Sent the "new to me" 8 pot calipers off to be refurbished for the Murcielago. I did consider doing them myself but thought better of it and I really wanted a top end finish and to ensure a match to the OEM Gloss Black the car has.
OMG, what a job they have done too so I have to say a Massive thanks to the team at brake caliper referbs

Arrrh my 2nd car, I was 19 and made up when I bought it Sadly one of only cars 2 I don't have a digital photo of, I have a few 35mm pics of it somewhere, but it was red with the black and grey checked cloth.Edited to add.. thanks for updating the thread it makes brilliant reading.
I was so excited and did the young person thing on the day I got it, Filled it up and went to my favourite bit of road and opened it up..... I got caught speeding and got a ban for 3 weeks - The only time I have ever had a driving conviction... I had to sell it come insurance renewal time as it went through the roof and moved to the 405TD
The car was back then getting rusty, but wow I loved it - The engine was mega, the seats and interior Japanese perfection
I had to have a head gasket done in my time as it blew. I did loads of miles and UK tours with car clubs. My most memorable one was a 3 week trip to the Lake district and some of the best driving memories.
Although not my car, it was the same as this

It was a godsent with the heavy rain and localised flooding where I live. At one point this morning I was driving down a road that more like a River
Just waiting for the rear qtr panel to come into stock now, then the car will be repaired from the lorry crash

Polestar went in for its 60k service last week - its actually now on 65k, service was £160 or something silly - I am out of the "free" service plan now due to miles
it has recently started telling me the parking sensors are not working which has been traced down to 2 more failed sensors - That will make 4 its had now!! All under warranty but just waiting on parts
