Car collected, lovely drive on the 28 mile journey home.

The overall condition of the car is excellent at 113,800 miles. Very composed chassis, superbly geared and despite being the 150hp it doesn’t feel at all underpowered.

Unfortunately, the bumper has been replaced/repainted off the car and the colour match. welll, they didn’t bother!!

The car is going back in as the boot needs painting anyway so will sort the bumper at the same time. Otherwise, little wear on the interior, a few minor stone chips but no other evidence of repair.

I think Steve Wonder signed this off biggrin

It sure is a lovely thing.
Not as nice as my old 156, when you come to realise this and want to swap I suppose just for you I'd agree.

Lovely looking mota mister, shame about the bumper, will the boot lid match it?

As it happens, there is a scratch on the bootlid so it will all get done at once and then blended in to the rear quarters.

To put everything in to perspective the car has come very cheaply and otherwise is in superb condition for the mileage inside and out. Superb history with receipts and fully stamped service book too.

The most popular model in the range. Well over my £10k budget, lovely thing.

Our for a blast on some local b-roads this morning, the handling is so precise and the 8 speed XF box is all ku smooth and effortless.

Already I can tell I’m not going to miss manual on my daily commute.

Mixture of roads 100 miles covered so far averaging 39.5, expecting considerable better on motorway trips.

On the search myself for one of these but Veloce Petrol.
Yours looks great for the money. There is a petrol similar for just under £11k but 150k.
Not that brave haha

Yes, I'd seen that. I've bought plenty of cars over the years with 100-120k miles and had tremendous value out of them, my over Alfa has 144k miles, however I'd not sure I'd be brave enough to buy that especially with their liking for multiair units!!!

120 mile report at 113,976 miles

What I've learnt so far. Incredible ride and handling, it corners like it's on rails, the gearbox is a revelation so smooth. Although, it would be nice to know what gear I'm in, which only seems possible if its in manual, and I can't be arsed with that.

I have a habit of putting the thing in park instead of reverse, that's operator error, otherwise it effortless, I can't think why I've continued to use manual as my daily driver so many years. Although I did have a semi-auto a few years back, however I was put of these robotised manuals or life, I hated the experience.

Overall, I've averaged 39.7 mpg, however that has involved a fair chunk of driving on local roads and I know to expect a lot more when on a run, which is fine.

Standard seats are fine, they are comfortable, however the seat base could be better bolstered, it's a bit flat especially compared to the seats in my Brera.

A couple of quirks (of course, it's an Alfa) stop/start doesn't work, which a common feature of Giulias, the battery needs to be 95% charged for it to work and as with most Giulias we are below that. On a similar theme, the heated rear screen is useless, they simply don't work unless the battery is at optimum charge!

I haven't worked out many of the buttons yet, I'm a bit of a technophobe but I'll get there.

Overall, very happy with the car, drives nothing like it's miles, looks expensive but wasn't and I've not seen another on the road since I picked it up.

Nice one.
I have owned my Giulia Veloce for about 2 and a bit years, and i love it.
Best Alfa That i have owned.
It hasnt been faultless, poor starting and electrical issues as you have said.
A new bigger battery and changing the 6 relays in the front wheel arch seems to have sorted it.

I've not had any starting issues, then again I'm only 48 hours in. I will bare in mind what you've said about the battery.

To be fair, I'm still pinching myself that I've found one within (or just outside) my self imposed £10k budget, as much as I love cars I'm loathed to spend lots of money buying them! haha

Heated mirrors also don't work with a low battery.

As with all cars they seem well behaved when used regularly. I've had a bit of battery discharge as I didn't use mine over Christmas and the above mentioned features have stopped working but should be ok with some more regular use now.

These are minor irritations I’m sure I’ll soon forgot about.
