I drive the beautiful 1998 Lotus Esprit also in my profile 
I do drive the S-type on "family outings" as she gets "nervous in traffic" (ok, so a married a numpty, but that just leaves more driving for me
). That's why since '99 we have only about 6,000 miles on the car.
I also have a Lincoln LS (company car) which is, believe it or not, a rebody of the S-type (will post a pic if you like). I like the Lincoln because they put in a Getrag built 5 speed. IMHO they should have done that with the S-Type as well. The "J Gate" is OK, but nothing beats shifting gears
