I didn't have Fury ahead at any point in the fight, how 1 judge could have him as the winner is proposterous
What!!! At the end of R7, I had Fury 69-64. Maybe 68-65 at a push. Great recovery from Usyk. fridaypassion said:

Lol. Even the commentators / and online hacks - most of which can't stand Fury are saying how close it was and how it wasn't 'clear'.
But hey, maybe you're smoking something. Leave you to it
Literally all of the commentators and the audience scorecard had a Usyk win. It was decisive and convincing. The right man definitely won I would say by at least the rounds plus a knockdown. If Fury was south American and the flight was in Brazil it might have been close. But hey, maybe you're smoking something. Leave you to it
If that last referee had scored it 114 - 114 instead of 114-113. It would have been a draw.

Definitely tuned into the one I saw that one where Fury came within one punch of being knocked out!
Again... that shows a lack of knowledge ... because that isn't how it's scored. It's not one off moments in isolation. That was my point earlier in the thread. Again, the right man won: no debate. But if you look at that moment in isolation, then Usyk looks like he ran away with it. That's not boxing though!MrBogSmith said:
As a casual I thought it was a close fight.
Always surprises me how three professional boxing judges watching the same fight can be quite far one another come the end.
If 4 rounds are very close, it's very possible for one judge to think boxer A just shaded them all, the 2nd judge give 2 rounds to boxer A and 2 to boxer B, and the 3rd judge to think boxer B shaded them all. So in a close fight, you can easily get a big disparity. Always surprises me how three professional boxing judges watching the same fight can be quite far one another come the end.

I do kind of know how it works as does Tuscaneer. In fact I know about 1% of what he knows. Usyk was the aggressor for most of the fight and had more eye-catching point scoring punches than Fury. The 9th round was an icing on the cake it would have been close without that round for sure but that 10/8 was enough to swing it.

The rounds were quite clear. Not sure what you’ve been watching. Maybe go back and watch it again with non bias.
What bias? The poster right above you said it was close also. The general consensus is that it was very close... so maybe your bias is clouding your judgement...I think Usyk winning is great and well deserved.
That 10 / 8 def' swung it. Agreed.
If the ref had let that barrage continue, Fury would have been officially KO'd also.
As I say, though, there were rounds where Fury looked better. And there were a couple where it was close enough to go either way. It's why I said early in the fight, it might come down to one point...
The rematch will be interesting. To see what adjustments are made by both camps.

I wonder with Fury’s well documented mental health struggles whether this will tilt him the wrong way. He’s expressed how it’s boxing that keeps him on the rails.
I hope it doesn’t cause him to spiral.
Thanks that makes sense.
It’s a very imperfect system compared to most sports.
