Absolutely fascinating!
If the quality is there and using GM dies etc it should be
Maybe the general feeling that Asian reproduction parts are crap is about to change ?

I guess I’ll find out at some point!
hehe

No nasty surprises here, can't be any left as solid as this one, a very lucky find most are beyond repair or previously restored

and are marketed at sky high prices, Only wish i had your patients and skills to take on this sort of project.

Yes it’s all looking very good,
Ok there may be some surprises at the cowl end ,
But being hidden away for so long has definitely helped in preserving the old girl,
Up and under the rear bulkhead, rear wheel tubs etc it virtually like new,
It’s going to make a super nice car when completed,
I absolutely love it to bits!

If it was being done professionally and I use term in the context of a actual restoration business doing the car,
Not a Fred in a shed Jobbie,
It would have been a prime candidate for a hot alkaline strip and a full acid derust , however this is way to expensive and logistically impossible for me to do,
Very costly and one needs lifting gear , trailers and tow vehicles etc,

So I have to do it the hard way!

I believe that doing it the hard way is the right way to do it. I am not a fan of the acid stripping process as I believe that it is difficult to neutralise the acid that can become trapped in seams etc. I know of a couple of old 911's that were acid stripped and then had issues with the acid leaching out from some seams after metalwork and painting.

Yes that’s always a possibility, but generally that’s down to poor workmanship, spot welded cars by definition have gaps between the panels everywhere,
The beauty of acid dipping is it’s supposed to eradicate rust from between all the panels,
Proper attention to these areas and proper resealing with a good quality epoxy sealant will ensure these never any bleeding from seams,

There’s for’s and against different methods of shell cleaning and rust removal,
Hot dipping is probably the best as it’s total,
Blasting is good but won’t clean between the seams,
And can also distort flimsy panels,

None of the above are an option for me!
Although I will use my blasting machine to spot blast any areas that are pitted,
It’s messy and very time consuming, but hopefully I won’t have acres to do !!!
The pitting on the roof is the worst place
Simply because when the car was repainted back in the day the numptys used a grinder to remove rust scabs,
This method just grinds away the surface of the steel making it far more likely to rust again only worse!!
dheads !!!!

I’m using Ferro Bet acid to remove any corrosion from any where , very good product that works,
Messy to use and takes time but definitely get the rust out of the metal

Its on DLVA as 'blue'.......and 5000 cc - even for a 428 CJ/SCJ (Boss 302 perhaps?) £70K would be 'strong' money............with a 302 the sellers gotta be total lunatic? - more than double its 'real' monet should ever be!
Ad' is pushing as a 408 cu in 'John Wick'..........

It's a totally rebuilt car, and if it is in perfect condition, it's a lot cheaper than doing one yourself. And John Wick has made the 69 Mustang a pretty desired car.

Probably not £70k, but it's no way a £35k car.

All depends on who built it though, as to whether its worth the money?

A person/workshop with an established track record in good builds and/or a known Mustang specialist with a good reputation, then yes, probably is a real 50k car in current Mustang market.

An unknown builder, then that 35-40k mark could even be optimistic, let alone 70k.

Another PH'r has confirmed in a post in another thread that our AWOL Italian car fan posted a day or so ago on another forum they both frequent, so Nij is alive and well. I'm thus guessing he's fallen foul of the PH mods for something and has been banned.......and as he's been a away for over a month, it could thus be a permanent one frown

Someone 'message' him on that 'other' forum perhaps?

It's hard to imagine how someone like Nij, with the stuff he posts, could do something which was a genuine contravention, although I don't doubt that the ban is what's happened. Ridiculous.

Its quite easy.
I got a week ban last year for something I didn't post - the email from mods quoted the post that was an issue wasnt one of mine banghead and there's nothing you can do about it.....they just ignore any complaint email you send to them.
Luckily mine was only a week long, so just had to sit it out. Its why I only now post in limited sections, like here.

Haha
Know all about that !!
lol
Dug out me blaster , obviously made a slight error and left the soda in the soda tank
Completely rotted the brass pipe work away!
So I’ve taken the soda out of the system
Absolutely fu—ing useless anyway!!
So I’ll use the soda tank as a syphon feed for my guyson blast gun as it’s ideal for small quick cleaning jobs,
My compressor at home isn’t powerful enough to run the rig but the work screw pump provides tons of air so it works nicely

There was a thread started in the classic section about this, with a link to the FBHVC survey link, which is FBHVC's view on the proposals (which is not what what all people would agree with if you have a modified classic)

See here...

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

This is basically what the doomsday people predicted would happen about 10 years ago, but were shot down by most, with 'it won't happen here' etc......just because its happening in Europe, doesn't mean it will happen here blah, blah.

The writing was always on the wall, and with a almost certain change of Govt around the corner, who have a track record of being unfriendly towards old cars.......especially under 'green' pressures.......our fun times might be getting ever more difficult in the not so distant future.

Ok so look on the bright side
We’ll have lots of exspensive ornaments between us !

And how would anyone actually know what’s been done to a restored vehicle?
If it’s been done properly it should just look factory!
As for tossers who convert any car to ev deserve all the grief they get !
