Lots of 15 year olds also want booze, and vapes, and weed, it doesn’t make it morally acceptable to sell it to them.
This shouldn't even need to be said. It's predatory behaviour.

It's interesting how creeps try to justify their position by stating everyone else must be lying.
Likewise, it is interesting, (enlightening?) to me how the dishonest and faux-pious cannot be truthful about what they would have done if they were one of these lads, whilst also admitting that their position would match my own and be hypocritically different if it were 15 year old girls with a 28 year old male teacher, (ie; an immediate hanging offence).

A better question to ask is your response if your 15 year old son was being abused in this way when all you wanted was for their teacher to help them pass their GCSEs.

The fact that one might have acted the same way as the victims does not alter one’s position on the abuser. Indeed , the fact that teenage boys have poor judgment is half the point. There will be mothers who had crushes on teachers, they’ll still righteously string you up for fking their child.

Can only imagine how different certain people would view it if it was a male teacher and child. Weirdos.

When she became pregnant the boy was 16 and she was no longer a teacher, so I presume no offences were committed, I don't think?
Depends on the minutiae of the law. Their relationship (not sexual) was established when she was a teacher.
Found this interesting, don'y know if anyone else will?

It's a strange argument from some.

15 year old boys are up for it so are not victims, 15 year old girls aren't up for it and are victims.

It may be consensual in male/female cases. That Doesn't make it right or excuse a teachers behaviour in either case.

Why do you not give girls the same autonomy as boys?

Would I have done the same when I was 15? Possibly, but I would still have been a victim. People willingly hand money over to scammers every day, yet they are still victims. The fact that 30 ish years later I can see it would be wrong doesn’t make me a hypocrite, it means I have grown up, unlike those who’s attitude is still “sleeping with a teacher? What a lad!”.

Is that your belief, or your summation of others attitudes? If the former, have you never seen the trope of teen girls with a crush on a teacher, and should take a look at the link posted above your post.

Read the sentencing guidelines? (Clue: it won't. Unless you're referring to victim impact statements.)

He was taking the piss....
Genuinely staggered that this actually had to be pointed out hehe

Some people seem to find it genuinely difficult to understand that others dont have the same opinion as them.

Teachers arent supposed to have relationships with students (of any age) because of potential problems from the dynamic in the relationship. That's the same even if they are both adults. I used to attend and evening class where one of the students ended up killing the tutor over the relationship they were having. Not in the classroom I'm pleased to say. RIP the teacher who was very nice. frown

You are making a ludicrous argument, and seemingly admitting it's ludicrous too which is somewhat headscratching.

It matters not a jot whether any of us would have had sex with an older teacher or not. I dare say several of us would, I may have, but that just reinforces the fact a 15 year old isn't capable of adult judgment.

Put aside the daft argument about 'enjoying it', and put aside whether it's a boy or a girl. Ultimately an adult, in a position of trust and authority, had sex with kids.

It can never be right in any way, shape or form.

This sort of perception is the reason we are now teaching kids about consent.
Rape does absolutely not have to be 'violent and forceful'. It can be but doesn't have to be at all.

Nope. Nobody has said those issues would have *any* effect on the sentence or verdict whatsoever or anything remotely similar. In fact a lot of people have said the exact opposite. That's entirely come from you.

Maybe I've missed the post that suggests the enjoyment or otherwise of the lads might have any effect that you're taking the piss out of? Post a link to it so we can all see.

So why not find a post saying it's right, and argue with that?

A better question to ask is your response if your 15 year old son was being abused in this way when all you wanted was for their teacher to help them pass their GCSEs.
Abused?

Unless you are privy to more information and evidence than what has been reported in the press, I think you might be setting the bar for ‘abuse’ pretty low. Although it could reasonably be argued that the one lad who is now a Father out of all of this is carrying a burden and a parental responsibility for the rest of his life, (and that’s on the assumption that he actually cares).

These lads tried it on with their teacher. She obliged, put out to them and showered them with gifts.

At 15, whilst I was not as mature as I am now, I’d have certainly known what I was doing in such a situation. Perhaps you were a lot more immature and emotionally unintelligent than I was at that age?

A previous poster summed it up perfectly earlier in the thread. Men ‘do’ sex. Women have sex ‘done’ to them.

In case you missed it, I’ll repeat again for the forth time, this lady has broken the law and broken her position of trust, and therefore should be punished to the full extent of the law. What I do disagree with is that these two lads were victims to the extent that many of you are suggesting that they were. They’d have been Kings amongst their peers.

Exactly. And that’s the point that I’ve been trying to make since my very first post. By my own admission, I’d have viewed the whole thing very differently if it were a 15 year old girl with a 28 year old male teacher.

I’m guessing the Biology GCSE should go well.

This reinforces the point that using a position of trust to leverage a sexual relationship with a child, is rarely going to end well. There are good reasons the law is designed to prevent it.
