Yep. Absolutely useless. Finished last year second in WDC. Currently second in WDC and finished that session 0.5 seconds behind his team mate.

Absolutely hopeless. Sack him immediately.
What a bizarrely self-inconsistent post .

Two McLarens vs one Red bull feels like a possible race tomorrow. First corner(s) incident with Piastri also seems on the cards if Verstappen has a rare poor start.

Max earned that one.

I had Piastri for pole, so close but no cigar.
Awfully close, less than a tenth covering the podium places.

Great to see a session where pole wasn't a forgone conclusion. Top 3 within a tenth, more of this please

So close at the front!
Interesting talk with Hulkenberg and they showed that he gave Max a tow along the start finish straight - enough to just give him pole. (Of course, the McLarens may have had a tow also!)

I can't see past another MV win now tomorrow ?

But it is now really close, at least between MV and the two Mclarens, then someone else could well crash the party and pop in with a good strategy and race.

The main issue is the potential lack of overtaking opportunities. Fingers crossed.

If this sort of form continues Redbull might be forced to change Perez as consistant 2nd and 3rd with the odd win will take the constructors championship over Max with support act Perez...

I see you struggle with sarcasm. Fair enough.

Red Bull don't care about the constructors championship, that's what they told us previously.

I believe them. I really do. I mean, honestly, they don't care about the WCC. Why would they lie?

If they finish the first lap in the same order they start, McLaren's tactics could be interesting.

He's worked hard on those. Rare to see him make a bad start now.

Pressure's on.

The set-up of the car was a rather hurried event. With tyre temperatures, as always, being an important factor, it might be that MV will struggle in the race. McLaren appeared to be perfecting their set-up over FP1 & 2. RB have always had good race pace. There might be a change tomorrow. They've been husbanding tyres all weekend. Also, Piastri might believe that MV will let him go if it's a bit rough into the first corner.

With less than a tenth covering the first three on one lap performance, it's got to be close.

I think we can say the Red Bull was not the fastest car today

Cracking lap from Max, and he sounded genuinely relieved to get that one.

Oscar sounded like he’d just woken up from an afternoon nap when his engineer said he was P2 - the kid must have ice flowing through his veins.

Fancy we might have a decent race tmrw.

Well that was close, so they are getting up to RB which is good to see, Max will probably beat the McLarens but great to see them up at the front (again).

Pleased for Piastri nicking 2nd by a few hundreds shows he has the pace just needs more race time to catch Lando in that regard, good pairing.

Not by any significant margin certainly - there was really nothing to choose between the Redbull, Ferrari and Mclaren over one lap once Redbull had sorted out their setup. Even if it was ultimately fastest, it was fairly clear that the Redbull was the hardest of the three to get the most out of.

If the cars come out of the first former in grid-order, I think Redbull hare going to have difficulty keeping both Mclarens behind Verstappen.

McLaren (Norris) was quicker in the long runs yesterday than red bull, and quicker on the harder tyres . And it’s a one stop race. A McLaren driver, prob Norris, will win tomorrow.
