Mrs Robbo's car insurance renewal notice for Carys Yaris arrived through the letterbox today.

The premium has increased by a staggering £1.09 over last year's figure.

Yet another instance of shameless exploitation of a vulnerable pensioner by the money-grabbing insurance sector.

biggrin

A little tired this morning, awake several times last night, not for long, but just interrupted sleep.

Sorry to hear that you're not sleeping well Byker, is something bothering you?

I'm off to the gym for the first time in at least six years today!!!

And my dad has been accepted by a care home about 10 minutes drive from us, he's being released from hospital today, and going straight to the home, so this afternoon I'll be taking all his clothes and toiletries over there before heading up to Trivton Scotney for my rendezvous with Dicky!!

Here we are once more staring a Friday square in the face. The days are whizzing by and I have to catch a train to Edinburgh as we are off to see Mr Romesh Ranganathan on tour this very evening.

I present your Friday reminder.

Good morning everyone. It’s cool but the suns up and looks like a fair day.
I’ve checked me spuds etc and all seems good. I had to add a few barrows of soil to the spuds yesterday!

Onions leaning towards the afternoon sun!

Good luck to you all at whatever you are at today.

Fout.

Morning most, evening Paua

It's nearly the weekend, but first I have to remember how to play with electronics instead of sums.

Some good looking veggies there Magoo

The east wing of Trivton Manor, with the church spire in the background, will look splendid in the morning sunshine. Are you using oils or watercolours?

Bobbers, I am discombobulated. I've PM'd you to cancel tonight, unfortunately. Sorry. I was poorly yesterday and am not 100% today. We'll get together soon though.

Would you believe it. I had screws in the passenger rear so had a new tyre fitted. Now I have a screw in the drivers rear tyre. It’s being repaired. What are the chances!

Good moaneve everybody, get well soon, Dicky!

It's Friday, which no longer holds the eager anticipation it used to when I worked for a living, a bit like public holidays, and the countdown to a long weekend. I've had a whinge about this before, and the infringement of the basic human right to get excited about a long weekend, and planning annual holidays to include as many public holidays as possible, thereby increasing one's annual leave.

Anyway. Nobody cares, but as Glenners has pointed out, when you're retired you never get a day off. So it's back to the grindstone today, washing, cleaning, steppage, and a few hours of the Post Office Horizon Amnesia-Fest this afternoon.

It isn't easy being me, you know. Somebody has to do it.

eek Uh - oh!

Tell us all about it Bobbers.

Did it happen anywhere near Buttocks Heath?
Happened Tuesday glenrobbo on the way home, some idiot tried to push in in front of me, I accelerated round him, he didn't like it, undertook me and carved across in front of me, stopped his car blocking two lanes, got out and hurled abuse at me about nearly causing an accident because I didn't let him in, I remained calm, refused to get out, told him to grow up, get in his car and fk off or I'd call the police.
He did eventually get in his car, but not until he'd called me several names, and threatened me, all I did tonight was try to upload the video to the online police dashcam portal, but as he'd threatened me and blocked the road, it was escalated and I was asked to submit a statement.
I had some idiot try and force me off the road a while back when he was the one at fault.

Imagine a two lane elongated roundabout/island, left lane for straight on, right hand lane for turn right only. I came up to one of the junctions, van in right hand lane and pulled out into left hand lane.
matey in the van got all road ragey because he was essentially using it to try and jump any traffic but wasn't indicating.
How was i supposed to know he was being a prat?
So this nebulous retard decided to then try and force me to stop on the A1M and as i already knew he was going to do it, closed the gap in front of me so he couldn't get in.

boy was he angry!
I then very carefully manouvered him to the point he couldn't do anything and came off at the next junction while he had to go sailing on past.

Her ladyship pointed out he could have been a madman and i might have been stabbed. I conceded this point but also made her aware i was in my work steel toe cap boots and had a heavy coat on at the time, so if he pulled a knife i would have kicked his kneecap out of joint, then suffered a faint and accidentally kicked his face as i stumbled on the way past.

This apparently makes me angry and grumpy, whereas i prefer just not prepared to be pushed around by someone in the wrong.

We encountered a number of the same type of knobs on the road to and from Scotland. Treat everyone out there on the roads as psycopathic mental health patients.

Made the decision to sell Pembroke house. I love that house but they won't accept it as my primary address, because I own another property. I can't afford the 300% additional hike in council tax so it has to go.

I love the house, have put lots of work into it, love living there, but needs must frown

Ah st, I'm really sorry to hear that Byker, I know we spoke about it a few months ago, sad times indeed.
