Anyone here playing a 7 wood? I've picked up a used Cobra Aerojet, turned up to 22*, and will be trying it out this evening over 9 holes at Test Valley.

It's replacing my 5 iron which I struggle to hit, and hopefully gives a more reliable option compared to my hybrid (which is staying in the bag - 25* Cobra T-Rail) as that works well as a rescue club where I can sacrifice a bit of distance.

Released having charged him... Of course they could be dropped.
Why should they?

The felony assault charge might likely get dropped, but I suspect the others won't. He was being a dick, why should he get away with it because he's a rich dick?
From all reports I've seen so far Scheffler was just following the other players coming in at the same time, and he really doesn't strike me as an entitled dhead - just look at the pictures of him celebrating his Masters win in a dive bar in Texas with the locals - hardly prima Donna behaviour.

Given he was charged with a felony and was out in 2 hours, allegedly without having to pay bail, then given an escort to the golf course, I'm sticking with an over zealous cop who might not be too welcome in Louisville PD for much longer.

Well that and the journalists who witnessed it not being able to believe he was arrested. I'll be shocked if all the charges aren't dropped.

If the Police tell you to stop. You stop. Very very simple. Particularly over there.
Rules are rules

I was at a family wedding a few years ago in New Jersey.
Most guests stayed at a camp ground in cabins, was fantastic.
An elderly Belgian relative in hire car, didn’t totally stop when turning , there was a stop sign.
He got a real bking by the guard at an evening BBQ, like he was criminal of the year, totally OTT for the tiny transgression.
A cheer went up. Half of the guests were European, beer had been consumed.
Was very funny smile

Rules question

Snooker style putting.. as far I can find out, you must use the head of a club, and you must be on your feet. You can’t straddle the line of the putt. You also can’t push the ball..

So.. I’m thinking.. squat down, bridge hand on the floor outside line of feet. Use a putter with a flat sole. Get other hand as close to the ground as possible so that you aren’t striking down too much..

Legal? Doubt I’m flexible enough to do it anyway but I’m certain a child could..

Hate to admit it but I can't but think he's finished now for me, he was not able to get ready for yesterdays round physically hence the get out the car triple bogey's like we'd have.

Even going to Seniors golf wouldn't work for me with one less round a tournament.

Happy to report that the 7 wood was outstanding. Shot a best score of 47 over the front 9 last night and my handicap has dipped below 30, so it's great to feel that progress is being made. Only negative is that I missed a few easy putts and could/should have made a 43. Golf is stupid biggrin

A 7/5 wood makes sense as more lofted woods/hybrids can be easier to use than lower lofted irons. I am in my 70’s and find hybrids great. Plenty of distance and personally I get more control. Use whichever club that works for you.

Nice work, and good to hear the 7 wood is working out for you! They aren't for me personally, but I'm seeing more and more people put them in the bag, all the way up to pro level (I think Fleetwood sometimes carries a 9 wood).

Went out for 9 yesterday before I put the clubs away for a week to go on holiday, had a fun round. Ended up shooting a 3 over 38 and was trying a new pitch shot I learnt at my last lesson. I've had a horrible tendancy to chunk chips - especially off wetter lies). Apparently my set up was brilliant for a flop shot but not so great for a pitch, so he's got me standing closer to the ball and keeping my weight on my left side, then just rotate with the shoulders.

Very promising, got up and down from a tricky position on 9 for par, and the ball was coming out far lower than previously.

Had a lovely birdie on 4 as well - 3 wood down the middle, wedge from 115 yards to 2 feet, and sank the putt. Easy game smile

Then pulled my tee shot on 5 and short sided myself in a bunker. Arse.

He could use a buggy in Seniors IIRC.

Feels like I'm just updating my results on here, sorry if it gets a little dull.
I like it. Congrats btw.

I can’t get out this weekend so it’s swing practice in the back garden for me.

Have just booked 3 solo rounds in Belek next week though.

Playing Carya, National, and Aspendos - should be good smile

This is a great watch. Shame Rory is being Rory in Majors.

Heading to Portugal next week, Almancin to be precise. Anyone know of a decent / reasonable course that doesn’t gouge for rental sets? Planning on taking my 60 year old mum for a round as she’s coming with us & plays, so will also need a buggy even though she’s fit as a fiddle, it might be a touch warm to walk 18!

Yep, loving it. Absolutely gutted Lowry missed that putt for 61, although it was longer than it looked from the first angle.

It looks like it’s going to be all to play for tomorrow, I’m excited!

Bit tentative there from Shane. Great rounds from him and Rose though.

My own golf is a bit up and down. Was terrible last weekend, started to get it back on Thursday, but have developed a bit of a pull with driver and irons, and presenting too much loft with wedges.

Played today in the second round of our greensomes knockout this afternoon. We were getting 6 shots, but didn’t really use them to win holes. A poor first saw is one down early, got it back to all square after 5 then went 1 up, before being 2 down at the turn.
We won 10 then lost 11 with a shot. We then played a bit better (apart from my partner hitting a full shank) to go 1 up after 15, then AS after 16, 1 up after 17 and 3 stabbed 18 to go back to AS.

So, off back down the 1st we went. After good drives our opponent was up firsts and went long, my partner then hit it to 15 ft and a nice lag put gave us the win as the others couldn’t get up and down,

Tomorrow I have the second round of one of our individual knockouts which I think will be played of scratch.

Looking at the video, he was in a marked courtesy car, it was dark and raining and the police couldn't be identified as police, because they were wearing unmarked hiviz jackets.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather.

Seems like everyone had the same idea as me, as it just took us 3 hours 10mins to play 9 holes, we ended up walking in. A ladies society turned up and just played glacially, whole course was backed up! You were looking at queues of 3 groups or more on the tee box.

They were on for a solid 6+ hour round, what’s the longest everyone’s been stuck behind someone?
