But they've announced they're changing the name of the Brecon Beacons. Surely that's money well spent (not) ? Though I'm hoping it's just a delayed April Fool.
Can't say I agree there. It's always been called Bannau Brycheiniog, the English is just a (poor) translation. Other countries use their native terms for regions and places, and I think if Wales wants to increase the number of Welsh speakers and give more visibility to the language then we need to do the same.
There's so many horrible anglicised place names in Wales, where the English doesn't even make sense, it's just a easier to say version of the welsh. The like of Llantwit Major (Llanilltud Fawr) come to mind.
I've just come back from a trip to Iceland, and while something mad like 95% of people speak English, they haven't watered down their place names for the (mostly) American tourists at all, and they're all the better for it.

Give it 10yrs they’ll be down to 10mph, as we’ve got to make sure pedestrians who cant be responsible for themselves are protected and hinder everyone else. Then after that we can all get rid of cars as it’ll be quicker to walk. Get rid of foreign travel on planes, ships etc as they pollute too much. This on top of no one can have a laugh with each other, no banter. Should be a fun world we will soon live in.

It was at about 55k when I signed it on my lunch earlier! The sad fact is that it will probably be ignored by the muppets in the Bay as was the previous one.
No chance they’ll take any notice. They know best or so they think and they’ll never accept that they can’t just tell us how to behave.
Betrayed by Plaid who supported this and the general business wrecking agenda being pursued.
Perhaps some civil disobedience is necessary? What, about a campaign to refuse to accept a fixed penalty issued under this, take it to court and if every victim did this the court system would grind to a halt in weeks. They impose an improper law so …Yes there would be a cost in the form of “victim surcharge” but further disruption by appealing any enhanced points would also help.
This an the Assembly’s antics generally are shameful.

Live in Scotland but signed this because it is wrong, only time before the idiots up here change this limit in Scotland too.
Cars emit more fumes in a low gear and higher revs so how is this going to improve air quality.
Sounds like a cynical way of increasing revenue by fining anyone, ie everyone, driving at over 20 MPH
