At one point I did a lot of it.

Obviously the security/customs stuff was quicker ( was doing Canada to many US locations)

The problem was that every flight was a working flight- its just a mobile conference room and there is no escape. Did not find them cramped though.

I much prefer first or business where I can relax for a while and get to a meeting more relaxed.

I did a few flight where I was a customer and there was time to enjoy it - one of the most memorable moments was near Colorado- we were at 42,500 feet and below us was a 747 and we could see his contrails....beautiful to see..like an ocean liner, with the Rockies below him. This was before iPhones, so never got a pic.

Paris to Newark in a Gulfstream IV is $65,000! eek
Newark, New Jersey or Newark, Nottinghamshire? hehe
If you can fill all the seats that's maybe $4,500 or $5000 each. Flexible business class on Air France would be about $3500. First class BA from London to Newark about $12000.

I believe there are some chaps in Bogotá offering a free flight if you wouldn't mind carrying their suitcases to Farnborough for them.

Just got back from a very memorable trip to Senegal. We flew from Biggin Hill to Geneva, picked up some family and then onwards to Dakar

All on a lineage 1000. 22 seats in total. Our party was 15

V spoiling spoiling. Food was okay. Service v attentive on board.

Parking 10 metres from the terminal at Biggin Hill was cool. And the aircraft being max 50 metres from my car was cool.

All paid for by my squillionaire brother in law. God bless him. Amen

The time saving was v cool. No long walks through the terminal. Bags taken from car, delivered back to car. All very smooth, as it should be.

I dread to think of the cost.

My son took some paint pens on board which pressurised and leaked all over a seat. Dread to think of the cleaning bill. Eeeek!

I did Farnborough to Rome last year - hitching a ride with a client. No idea what kind of plane it was but it had about 12 seats and was really luxurious. Just the two of us and then collected by a Maybach at the Italian end. You could definitely get used to it!
Slightly embarrassing to then get dropped at a budget hotel though :-)

I think I read somewhere once that a private jet journey to the customer was ‘roughly’ £10,000 an hour?

So maybe like £150k……

Yikes.

I've flown from Biggin a few times and the best part is being dropped off at the terminal, having free drinks and snacks whilst waiting for checks (we were early), and then walking straight onto the plane. Whilst waiting we watch others arrive with 30 or 40 suitcases.

As soon as you are on board there, you take off immediately, maybe a queue of 1 or 2 planes for take off. There is no way you want to be slot bound at a major airport, so smaller business airports are better. At Biggin there is also a 10 min helicopter taxi into Central London.

We saw John Terry on arrival back at Biggin last night.

He had his golfing gear with him. He was nice enough - said hello and bye.

I can’t go in to details, but he is NOT a nice passenger.

It's blatantly obvious the guy is a complete dick. Hardly surprising that he doesn't get any better in private.

He’d probably been introducing someone else’s wife to the Mile High Club.

I did wonder if Con Air might be the 'free option', however in reality, JPATS (Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System) doesn't have anything of its own smaller than a 737-400.

I learned to fly at Biggin Hill years ago. The biz jets don't queue because they make the little GA aircraft queue up instead hehe
If I had a lesson on a Saturday morning I could quite easily be 5th or 6th in the hold waiting to depart. Usually behind the "Bernie Bus" Formula 1's BA 146

Not much GA at Biggin Hill any more…it’s all been pushed out to allow for more profitable bizjet capacity.

It's a few years since I flew either of those but on both, the jet engines were missing....

(PS: I really like the PA-28)
