Sunday night - proper fish and chips from Wetherby whaler Outwood - eaten in Premier Inn.
Scallop next to can of coke (slice of potato, battered and deep fried). Not sure if just a West Yorkshire thing.
You can get scallops like that in the midlands. Scallop next to can of coke (slice of potato, battered and deep fried). Not sure if just a West Yorkshire thing.
I hope you have already eaten 2/3 of the chips

Had a place near me reopened under new management so I thought I'd try them when I was passing. The woman assured me the fish in those 'warming shelves' they use, (don't know what they're actually called), was fresh out of the fryer! It wasn't! Dry as hell, tough, chewy piece of crap! Chips were soggy, mushy peas were watery! It wasn't £30 but I swore I'd never darken their doors again, bds! The New Management lasted a month before it closed down again. Rumour was they were a family of 'Itinerant Tinkers' Why they thought they'd make good fish 'n chips I don't know. Probably attracted by the cash factor!Had a long old day yesterday, fetching my daughter back from University (where has that 3 years gone)
I didn't fancy the Bacon Risotto they were having for dinner - so got this instead. Local kebab place has started offering Rice - so had Lamb & Chicken Shish on Rice, with loads of chilli sauce and garlic Sauce - Salad separate, and a portion of halloumi

A run up to Mankychester after work last week to drop off some work clothes for Vikingette2 so she could attend her work placement in London. I booked an elcheapo Travelodge for £23.99 and had this for dinner - Miami Crispy £4.79 meal deal with fries and a can of drink:
Got up extra early for an mad jaunt home on Saturday and did a crazy fun route through the Peak District that had hairpin bends and a near vertical hill. (You locals will know where!) Had all day free as Mrs V. was having dinner with her teaching friends, so I detoured across country for lunch at the Trawlers Catch in Skeggy:
Deelish. Despite the additional extra 100 miles home, I used less fuel in the diseasal than bombing up to Manchester on the M20/M25/M1/M6.

You'll like this one:
Sometimes we have curry night when we go caving/mine exploring. We either collect the food or the Indian place delivers it to the bend in the track. One of us crawls out of the mine and walks down to collect at the agreed time. The curry house think we are mental.
I've completely forgotten what it's called - a chicken tikka with lots of onions and sauce and a naan or two.
