I find it quite amusing that there seems to be some officianados on here but yet no-one has mentioned yet that Gwen's Kitchen seems to have been located to the opposite side of the house. In the ooriginal table on right and door to kitchen on left and in this special it seems to have swapped.

Thought it was a good episode, also love the whole Harry, Meghan and Beckham as the names of G & S's kids.
I think they were in G&S place which is Doris' old place, so the other 'hand'.

Not sure though as they did move between them.

My family all enjoyed it.

I'd not seen any of the previous shows. I really enjoyed it and laughed a lot.

The serial killer references stuck out. I mentioned it to Mrs B, who has seen many of the previous episodes. I was told to shush.

3rd kid was called Caitlin, not sure where you got Beckham from!

Quite enjoyed it. As a G&S fan, it was nice to go back, and they didn't take any risks with it.

Clearly everyone enjoys making it, which is why I think they deliberately (and slightly clumsily) left the door open for another special in a few years.

There wasn't any real foreshadowing of Nessa's proposal, and I thought it rang a bit oddly.

(Joanna Page gets ever more attractive, IMO)

I enjoyed the original Gavin & Stacey and found the programme on Christmas Day delightful. A great way to spend an hour and I always enjoy seeing Rob Brydon.

Why do you think I rushed out and bought it on DVD!!

I also agree that Ruth Jones was fantastic as Hattie Jacques, despite being much too pretty and nowhere near fat enough.

correct, it was Doris' house next door so makes sense it was flipped round.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, I thought Pam’s plan with the towels was good. Nessa is still a class act of a character. I don’t think there will be another series now James Corden has hit the big time in the US, am I glad, yes.

If they do one in another 10 years, will Smithy still be in the same Volvo? hehe

have to be honest I watched it with Mrs Iroc and was quite bored and unamused by it (Mrs Iroc loved it). Yes there were a couple of funny moments but over-all I much preferred Gino and co's Christmas special

It was funnier than 'One Foot in the Algarve' that I re-watched last night.

I predict it will be better than the Mrs. Brown's Boys and that's about the only nice thing I could say about it. I thought it was utter ste and quite frankly, just not funny.

There seems a fair bit of a tinge of snobbery around some of the condemnation. It's not cutting edge comedy, not cutting edge anything really, and I certainly don't view it in the same light as other members of the family, but will resolutely not criticise anyone for watching it or liking the same. Gauche, banal, touches of that everyday weirdness that occur in extended family and friends lives, yes that's also what makes it too.

It makes me wonder if perhaps some folks feel awkward and resort to denigration to deal with the issue that certain sections fit a little too close for comfort, e.g. the enthusiastic discussion about the "best motorway services area." Face facts, there have been quite a number of threads on here on that very same subject.
