The bit that was inconsistent in his testimony is that he said that he wk de red why his firm had taken the business at all because they had no experience or expertise in prosecution, and he wondered why they hadn’t been given training.

About 5 minutes later when asked about whether he considered any of the ethical requirements of prosecution or the codes of practice to follow, he said it hasn’t crossed his mind that he should think about such things.

Wonder if the Head of Security at POL will be called to answer questions re his idea of shredding of documents? That would be 'tasty' as well.

It is extremely interesting how the strong professional code and ethical basis that is - at least in principle - at the core of the legal profession is really allowing the legally qualified people involved to be held much more strongly to account than the executives in POL have been.

That is supposed to be what marks out qualified "professionals" (lawyers, accountants, doctors etc) from "normal" senior admin types.

"Professional Ethics" should actually mean something.

It's pretty clear many of these lawyers don't give a fk about the code of conduct they are bound by.
