I liked it, and no it's never been about Gavin and Stacey. If it leaves it with that ending*, I'm happy with it though. I don't want to know what happened on the fishing trip hehe

  • I can't see any new ones being a full series, now that Corden is doing the American chat show thing.

Very surprised by how many on this thread didn't / don't like it. I thought tonight's special was funny and really well acted. It was great to see how they've moved the story on, and Ruth Jones is a class act. I loved it, thought it was tidy, crackin'.

I really enjoyed it but was a fan back in the day.

Interesting to read the Daily Mail review then reading the comments, they do seem to be at odds.

James Cordon does seem to attracting some hate at the moment. Not sure why but maybe his US success.

IMO is far better than most crappy tv sitcoms (Mrs Brown, My Family etc) and is more on a level with Father Ted. .
Feck off.

I enjoyed it , as I thought I would. Its not ground breaking telly but it's warm and charming and has great characters.

It's genuinely bizarre just how many people who hate it or have never watched it have felt the need to read and comment in this thread. They must be enjoying Christmas if that's how they spend the time!

I was a big fan of G&S but this was very average at best. Sometimes it’s best to let things die gracefully.

I imagine that the size of the pay cheque may have turned the heads of those involved.

No excuse for poor writing though imo.

So some enjoyed it and some didnt. Thats fairly normal for a tv programme.

John Cleese, Connie Booth et al really knew what they were doing by leaving Fawlty Towers alone after 12 episodes.

I’m just pointing out their lack of judgement, as I’m sure you know smile
