No, the coupe was always top of the desirable pile, even back in the day.

I never liked the hatch, but the coupe was a thing of beauty.

The 1.8 Berlinetta hatch looked like a bargain in the end, was it 5700 or something or did I hear wrong. Not a lot in this day and age for a usable, solid classic.
7500, wasn't it?
Yes, after a later negotiation.
Ah, thanks, still doesn't seem bonkers in this day and age

I'd really like a late model, Solihull built red hardtop with the webasto roof and the standard kinda Rostyle wheels. I'd put a big pair of Cibies on the front just like my dad did with his. He loved his 7. Seemed like such a special car at the time!!

Talking of brakes, as they were working with the wheels off you could see the twin calipers on each front hub. Probably twin hydraulic circuits but if you needed more braking power? Fit two standard calipers - same model caliper as the Ford Cortina / Capri IIRC, none of this custom brake assemblies for each model of car as became the norm, there were a range of standard size calipers for the weight & speed of the car.

Rolls Royce calipers were assembled in a separate area of the Girling brake factory to keep mineral fluid products away from the ‘normal’ brake fluid products, as they mentioned - you don’t want to get the two mixed up.

It will be interesting to see if they have started to learn things and that continues, or, if they just started with a more successful episode!

Hope those two old boys in the garage who do the bikes are properly registered and insured to conduct a business from home like that...I guess they must be though, for the TV company to keep using them. Three grand labour though!

That was a much better programme than I expected. Far better than last series.
Why does RR use different type of brake fluid?

Last night was possibly one of the best episodes I've seen tbh. Definitely dodged another loss making bullet not buying that VDP Derek was waxing lyrical about because he used to own one. Good mix of car & bike choice to show the opposite ends of the collecting spectrum too. Hopefully the rest of the series is as entertaining if not profit making for the team lol!

I agree, one of the best episodes ever.

That Roller was breathtakingly lovely and shows that the dynamic of selling a really to end car is a world apart.

I do like those fellas doing the bikes but they seem to have moved into the 21st Century with their invoicing. Lucky the Reg No. helped them out!

The labour and parts elements of these jobs is scary but a real tonic to any serious and competent amateur restorer.

I assume this is a new series of the Bangers & Cash Restoration programmes? I must check my recordings to see if they're on there.

I have never been a fan of the RR Silver Spirit, never liked the looks or the image, always preferred the Silver Shadow.

But respect to them for making a profit for once.

£6k labour seems steep as did the labour on the bike.

Laughed at his valuation of the plate though. £2k.... yeah right. Surprised it made what it did at auction.

Damn! Missed it. Is there any way of catching up? Actually, have just seen that it might be on tomorrow at noon. Or that could be a random episode from the past.
