I'm looking forward to this later, like the office, I recognise most of the characters. It's generally a well observed comedy.
I understand some people may find it a bit too close to home.
In my 30s as an incompetent middle manager, I was compared to Gordon Brittas. The show never had the same allure after that.

People keep mentioning 'humour' and 'comedy', but I saw no evidence of either. I had to sit through this unfunny durge as the family were die-hard fans back in the day, and they had taken ownership of the 1.5l bottle of Baileys by this point. However we all lost interest at some point mid-show and switched it off. Cards against humanity and more Baileys won the day.

I enjoyed it. Not as funny as some of the series, but still pretty good.
Didn't think baby Neil was a particular good casting choice though. I know it's just a kid, but he was pretty awful.
The fact that it was pointed out to me by my daughter that this crap masquerades as comedy got the biggest laugh of all.Didn't think baby Neil was a particular good casting choice though. I know it's just a kid, but he was pretty awful.

As a stand-alone comedy effort it’s pretty poor, but it’s written for G+S fans and as such it was ok.
I'm not really a fan, used to watch with old GF, but enjoyed it. The comedy is pretty subtle and not overt, for a mainstream program it is pretty rare.Reminds me of the Royle family, which I never really enjoyed until 10+ years later.

I discovered the old series a few months ago on iPlayer and since then have watched every single episode two or three times. I think it's brilliant, although the fact that I am utterly in love with Joanna Page may have swayed my judgement somewhat.
Admittedly I would happily punch James Corden in his stupid fat face until my fist fell off, then superglue it back on and continue indefinitely. But I'm willing to forgive him as he is one of the co-writers.
Haven't watched the Christmas episode yet, so I won't pass judgement on it until i have.
