I thoroughly enjoyed that. Not sure how many activities would have been undertaken if no TV show was being made but it didn't really detract from the viewing. I'm also guessing that Lamborghini tractor supply was more than £40k...

The comments below the Guardian article make it for me. They make the average Daily Mail commentator look like a model citizen.
Now he's saving wildlife, producing food, creating a local farm shop etc I don't think they know how to hate him. The author of the piece opens with his 'contempt for farming' when it's abundantly clear from the show he's found a real passion for it. It's like she set out wanting to hate him and the show before it even started...

To be fair the Lambo is a 2012 so probably not.
I thought it was a loan as it was on trade plates the first episode but I guess was waiting for it to be registered as it was imported from Germany.

That review is utter nonsense. I didn’t see anything but admiration for the industry and those who work in it.

One episode in and enjoying it so far.

Looks like Hammond is the only one who didn't make a decent spin off series.

We're an episode and a half in, and thoroughly enjoying it. Agree about Calum, a brilliant lad.

I enjoy May's cooking thing but Hammond's island thing was a miss.

Mind you, Hammond's input to TG or grand tour was mostly as a foil for the other two.

Really enjoyed the first episode of this farm lark.

May's Japan series was worth a watch as well.

Yes I suppose we shouldn't be surprised at Hammond. Even during peak TG there were many moaning about him so it is hardly surprising a solo series crashed and burned.

I was thinking it must either be second hand or some creative accounting but it looked brand new inside and out. was also thinking 2 tractors minimum on a 1k acre farm. Certainly when they were rushing to finish the cultivating and running in shifts; surely 2 tractors at the same time would be quicker...

"Contempt for farming" wow. The author probably has contempt for the emergency services too. And teachers, and childminders, surgeons, bus drivers, plumbers, etc, etc.

Ok, NOW I'm excited. Thanks.

I'm a farmer so I'm right up for this.
You may know the answer to this then, why did he not plough his fields?

I've been looking forward to this as I like Clarkson, I think me and him share a few things in common. Britishness, love of cars, engines, machines, history, Worlds wars, old planes, lack of patience, an underlying sense of humour.
I'm also leaving car related stuff behind to buy a smallholding. So whilst a lot of his stuff is just arsing around it does send a serious message out too that farming is bloody hard work and often pointless - at least as far as making money is concerned. That is often reflected by other farming programs too, I haven't watched Harrys farm yet though, don't even know where to find it, i'm assuming YT so it may not get watched.

I watched the first two Clarksons last night and it didn't disappoint, you can immediately tell when I have a genuine interest in something on TV as I put my laptop down and give it 100%.
That aside I can't add anymore than anyone else already has, just looking forward to some more now.
I've not started watching yet, I'll let you know when I have. There are lots of different ways to sow crops, without watching the prog I can't really shed any light. Ploughing is done for several reasons but it's the most expensive option so not option 1 for a lot of farmers out of choice. There's quite a debate going on within farming circles about ploughing per se but it's pretty boring if you're not a farmer (or indeed are).

She's clearly been asked to write something that panders to the people who hate everything they think Clarkson stands for. It's an embarrassing hatchet job.

Just watched episode one.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

Jeremy is hopeless but not stupid, learning and clearly loves what he's doing.

Kaleb seems a likeable soul and him telling Jeremy off is very amusing.

Great stuff.
