PCC elections tomorrow

I am a poll clerk at the PCC election in the morning.

Small polling station on the outskirts of a small town in NE Somerset.

No council elections just the PCC. Current incumbent seeking reelection, Conservative.

Anyone care to guess what the turnout will be in percentage terms?

I will reveal the answer on Friday.

So the figure at our polling station was 10%.

Or to put it another way something over £10 cost for every vote cast.

Conservative lost his job. Replaced by Labour.

So the statistics will be completely false since they clearly don’t want to report them / know how to report them / try and get you to desperately give them any kind of ID rather than report it. By the way I am POSITIVE I previously commented on a thread about photo ID and I think it was a reasonably popular thread, does anyone know where it is? I think about 6 months ago, maybe a year. Cannot find it at all.

Yes they are published as part of the transparency obligations, nut there is no point of doing it down to station level.

If you include counting, printing the ballots, ( 90% of which were wasted of course) and the other costs, the figure per vote would be much higher.
We were using an iPad to scan poll cards and ballot papers for the first time yesterday, rather than the old paper list and ruler and pencil.

So how did that work as taking a polling card isn't compulsory yet.

Voter just gets looked up on the database using the iPad, much quicker than looking through the dog eared register.

Were you aware that photographic ID was required? I think you were. There was a thread about it on here. There was quite a lot of publicity about it.

Yet you turned up without it when you could have used a postal vote, a proxy or obtained ID if you genuinely didn't have any. ( which I doubt if you drive a car)

So rather than make a genuine attempt to vote you turned up to make some sort of half assed point.

Did you think that the law shouldn't apply to you because you are special?

If you had no intention of voting what gave you the right to be in the polling station by the way?
There are a very specific list of people with a right of entry and I wondered where you fitted in.

As long as your out of date photo ID can be confirmed as being you,It would be accepted. As happened on Thursday. Your MIL could have a postal vote, obtain voter ID or appoint a proxy.
