Don't know, I'd need a link for research to let you know.

It would involve a link to the daily wail and no one wants that sort of website on their browser history vomit

That’s nice but the price seems punchy given the location ?

Quite close to Gatwick?

Nice house without question, very tasteful and great grounds….but it’s an utter dead zone for getting to anywhere from around those ends. I was toying with viewing a house near Parkgate on the map to the West. Everything you ever do is a car journey. Suspect these sorts of locations are/have been in for a proper correction now people do need to commute somewhat more often. While Horley Station is only 2.5 miles as crow flies, I’m guessing it isn’t going to be particularly quick by car to get there.

Why would you use a car? It's short enough to walk occasionally or for a commuter either bike or e-bike.

I believe the house is on a bit of a rat-run to Gatwick via Dorking so pretty busy 80-90% of the time and is narrow without full wide borders, lighting and pavements so it would be pretty risky to walk along for a commute.

^ this house is nowhere near Dorking - it’s south of Gatwick, southwest of Crawley, east of Horsham.
Nice plot, wooded but plenty of south facing clear sky, so why no solar with that huge roof area?

This place in Belsize is cool, although I’m not sure it qualifies as being a country estate as the agent claims…

Why would you want to ruin a nice period property with solar panels? There are 20 acres to put them elsewhere!

It’s north of Gatwick and 10 mins from Dorking and Reigate.

North west of Horley and nowhere near Horsham.

Only parking for two motorcars seems a bit poor for the size and price of the place - you'd have to turn the annexe back into a garage at the very least biggrin

You definitely wouldn’t want to walk the road it’s on. It’s very windy and quite fast.

Also whilst it is close to Gatwick, the fact that it is so close means you never get any planes flying directly overhead and not much plane noise at all funnily enough.

I don't know what it is with Scottish houses but they all seem to have dormer windows and/or be 1.5 storeys.

Seems like the perfect way to make a house dark that will already be dark for six months of the year!
I've always assumed it is because it means there is less air to heat in the house in the winter, making it cheaper to heat than 2 full stories, and makes roof maintenance more accessible in a climate where there is probably more weather damage to buildings than in other parts of Britain.
