OK house purchase paranoia time

Why do you think the garden in the middle of this pic looks like this? I am talking about the colour and pattern of the back half of the garden in the middle of the pic.

So far I have been assuming that it’s probably just paved in blue grey cement tiles or similar but I have become a bit paranoid that it looks a bit like a roof? Or something else?

The neighbours on the near side have built a garage with a high mono-pitch roof which could be an effort to hide it from view?

Owner has a small panel van- not sign written. So it's either a pergola type thing (recreational space) or a storage / work space for a small business.

Have you looked at google earth and / or bing maps to see if you can get a birds eye view to see if there's any elevation there.
Good shout by the way. Never would've thought to check Bing.

Combined with the small panel van with roof rack & ladders I'm thinking small business, painter / decorator, furniture restoration and things like that.

I know from streetview sleuthing that they have coexisted with the neighbours on the near side for many years so I'm hoping that the noise isn't too much of a problem.

The estate agent asked the sellers. Apparently he's a charming retired motor mechanic and keeps his classic motorcycle etc under there cool

I'm a PHer- I'm happy about it. Look forward to meeting the guy.

There are so many worse things it could've been.

I reckon I'm going to end up hoping he stays as long as possible smile

I can't actually 'see ' the offending structure from my place, so it was more of a noise concern than an aesthetic one.

We've got a family with two young boys next door at the moment. It's a semi. Their house is open plan and hard floors throughout. Evenings and rainy days it's like living next to a bowling alley.
