I was reminded the other day of being back in primary/secondary school when you'd used to ask some of the other kids to play football. Invariably the reply would be along the lines of "dunno mate, not my ball." Then you'd need to find out who was the owner of said ball and get their permission.

Gave me a smile at least biggrin

Sunshine.

Remember sunshine? It was pleasant, made you warm, made you happy. At one point, loads of people in the media were suggesting we were going to get increasingly dangerous amounts of it.

Now?

All gone, bye bye….

My old bottle of Matey still has plenty of bubbles would be a euphemism worthy of any Carry On film.

My dad has smoked Condor all my life, and I turn 50 this week! Amazing smell being lit with Swan matches. Pipe smokers must be very rare these days.

They are. I’m quite tempted to by some Condor, and a pipe, just to smell it again. If you can still get it.

Yes you can smile

And I remember when global cooling, the arrival of an ice age was a thing, in the seventies. Same headlines, same language, same presentation of facts/data.

Not complaining but, even in respectable residences I remember
a lot more house flies in the sugar bowls and butter dishes in the warmer weather.
