I like that a lot. +1 for a windscreen though, and a steering wheel and gear knob that suits the rest of the car.

PS. I like the wheels.

I think the standard Plus 6 is a nicer looking car. The wheels look ridiculous on it. Interior and woodwork are fantastic though.
Plus one….

Stupid wheels ruin the design

I love it from some angles and yes the wheel and auto stick does not belong there, but there is a nice kit for it to give it a manual look, although some push buttons would also be better then the bmw thing.

but, it looks like it has a little flat luggage space, in the rear, but it has not... so no shopping crate fits if your with 2 in it.

also no windscreen, nice for some warm countries and spare garages, but otherwise? and ow, still no normal up/down side screens, even not stick ins..

no roof? boulevard look at me cruiser, still nice though.

Absolutely fantastic looking car. Nothing else like it.

I truly love it, but it needs a windscreen.

I adore the wheels.

Beautiful car. In a world of 'aggressive' cars with angry faces, or yobbish cares beloved of rappers and wrappers...that is a refreshing, artistic and classy car indeed. It would be a real sense of occasion opening the garage and seeing that.

I agree about the need for a screen. It would not detract and also offer the driver some protection from road rocks to the face.

10/10 and I don't care how many cup holders or the 0-60mph it does.

Under that wood behind the seats is a pop up roll bar, fired by pyrotechnics like an airbag, in the event of an accident.

What a marvelous piece of British craftsmanship. I have fairly recently found an appreciation for the Morgan Mark and their Roadsters that do in my view embody a unique combination of the classic and elegant design of 60’s sportscars with modern reliability.

We should celebrate the fact such cars are still manufactured and sold today in a world of ever-increasing rules and regulations. Driving such a car is a choice and I am glad it’s not been taken from us (yet!). It is choosing style and elegance over safety and an expression of a certain nostalgy of past times.

Long may it last.

Except every Morgan (other than the thing with 3 wheels).

It is horrible by the way.

As the article says, it primarily a piece of art to be admired at standstill and with no one in it

Looks much better without the headrests of the normal cars.

I love the wheels, but I am not convinced they're the best looking wheel for that design. They come across as Bugatti and Bugatti Royale like to me.

The flat face of the wheels give the impression of mass and solidity on what is a pared down, lightweight car.

The steering wheel does look like it should be an Aston or Jaguar.

An all black one would look 'murdered out'?

Good to know, and it’s important, but a headrest protects against whiplash not rollover. I also thought they were compulsory but maybe there’s an exception for small volume. The Bentley Blower doesn’t have them either.
Given the recent high profile casualty from a Morgan rollover, which must have affected sales, it’s a little surprising that there isn’t more protection here.
Anyone want to have a go at photoshopping a driver in? I reckon not just their head but a substantial part of their upper torso will be above screen height.

I really like that as a design study. Obviously it’s a shame about the bmw gear lever , steering wheel and screen but I can understand when they have been used.
I wonder if some of the styling could be adopted by Morgan for the standard models going forward? That rear end is gorgeous.
The older I get the more interesting Morgan becomes. I had a sit in a used aero 8 and it was lovely. However the reviews of how they drive and the prices are somewhat less enticing. I suspect a TVR would be a better bet in those respects.

Couldn't Pininfarina knock up an alternative gear shifter in their 3D printer - or at least cobble together an aluminium sleeve?

BMW insist that the gear-lever is in integral part of the package they offer and I believe they won't supply the engine and gearbox without it.
Probably fair to say that a third-party shifter may have switchgear and connection interfaces of lower quality or subtle differences in behaviour that could lead to glitches/reliability issues.

I suspect that they aren't allowed to under the terms of the deal. Someone like JLR have the money and means to be allowed by BMW's lawyers to make changes but they aren't going to let Morgan if the legal approval BMW have requires no cosmetic changes are made.

The bigger question is why Toyota didn't change the shape of the lever on the Supra?

Beautiful. What on earth were they thinking putting such an ugly steering wheel!
