On the socials, in situations like this people people snap off the charging port cover.
Because criminal damage is always the answer to mild inconvenience caused by lack of consideration.
Still can't believe you paid over £40k for a Skoda... tongue out. But it's not about the mild inconvenience for us, it's about the massive inconvenience and peril faced by those who aren't as mobile, or pushing a pram, or blind.

Re the injury claims, would insurance cover the cost of a claim if someone trips and gets injured on what is clearly negligent cable laying? (Arf arf)
I didn’t pay 40 grand for a Skoda. That would be silly. I paid 50 for a Chinese Volvo.

I just laugh at all the internet heroes proposing criminal damage, when in reality all they’d do is tut and post a photo on the internet. Absolutely, it’s unacceptable to charge a car like that, but the correct thing to do is knock on the door of the house and talk to them.

…or, to avoid any confrontation, involve the police.

Thanks for the clarification above that the cable will be locked into the car. Not having one of these contraptions, how was I to know?

Fair enough.

I'm also of the "talk to people as they might not even realise they're causing an issue" persuasion, amazingly I've not been punched for it. I have had my fair share of sincere faces saying things like "oh I don't normally do that" and "I definitely won't do it in future", that have been seemingly forgotten by the next time I walk by.

It's never resulted in criminal damage, I'm too British to stoop to such underhand ways, but I would laugh if I saw the offending parts of their car had been percussively disassembled. It grates when every day you have to push your baby along the road just because some tt has decided he can use the pavement to store (or charge) his car. So I can understand why people have their "Falling Down" moment on a charging cover, even if I wouldn't do it.

That is clearly how you do it. Dominate the pavement and road at the same time. Off road in your 4x4. Show people that you mean business with the BOSSSSS plate. This man is a pure unadulterated PH.

Parked outside Hobarts estate agents, one would assume the "Boss" of the place? Be interesting to see what the company has to say when that image is sent to them, or popped on their social media pages?

Selfish, idiotic parking of the highest order.

An estate agent? Never!

I prefer drug dealers... Basically the same personality, except at least they offer a tangible product for an understandable price. Plus they're a bit more customer focused.

chinese lady this am , wanted to get into the parking space, watched her reverse over the bike and then leave the back wheel on it,
spoke to her and her response was looking at me with a completely blank face saying ‘ but there nowhere else to park ‘ i said but not onto top of the bike!

There's a certain section of people who think that's a reasonable excuse - a local football training centre often has parking down both sides of the road outside, on verges etc., and when it pops up on the local FB groups, one of the parkers will often justify it with "well, there's nowhere else to park" as if that makes it all OK. Though it does look as if the motorbike was in the car space, unless she's dragged it forwards. Not that that is an excuse, of course.

Jesus. Hope you reported it! (To op, having problems editing quotes, sorry). Would that constitute leaving the scene of an accident, or does that only apply if the other driver/rider is there?

I wonder how she'd feel if a larger vehicle parked on her car.

Yes it would. Damage to another vehicle. Unless she reported the accident to the police.
