"after two years up to this point at the hands of Walkinshaw’s crack team"

The fact that they appear to have been on drugs does explain a lot of the styling.....

Love the way the rear spoiler looks like it is stretching up as high as it can to find some clean air. Yes, it's got a positive angle of attack, which is an unusual choice for a car, but I'm sure the designer knew what he was doing.
Probably to offset the low rear tyre pressures prescribed wink

Just far "too much" a modern interpretation of the TWR XJS touring cars with some subtle aero mods, maybe some slightly flared arches etc would have been very cool.
I'm with you on this - I think more like a Group 44 car would have been my preference rather than this approach which is based on the theory the Lister wasn't mad\ugly enough. The splitter/diffuser don't work (for me) with the basic shape and I'm not sure about the buttress changes but then I like the standard XJS as it is.

Shorten that chin spoiler and have the rear diffuser in black/cf then I think it's great!

Love the old Lister XJS, so I think it's cool.

Colour needs toning down, but what a brutish thing to take out for a blast after a leisurely Sunday lunch.

If starting from a clean sheet and inwards engineerng from an iconic shaped car, then surely start with the XJR-9 Silk Cut Le Mans winning car.

Then take a modern interpretation for a road going version of that!

Official website here: https://twrperformance.co.uk/

I would be amazed if this gets beyond one running example.

The development mule pics that they (and Magnus Walker) have posted previously looks better than the final product.

Buttress treatment looks good.

Re '88 assume they've mixed up first win since the '50's, rather than last win.

A whiff of the Aston Martin Nigel about this. Quite cool looking, but don't think it will feature in my lottery garage.

Or you could buy a RESTOMOD V12 Daimler Double Six here which is really quite beautiful:

And save £215k.

Good luck to them but it somehow looks more 70s now than the original

Do like the wheels though
