Change the wheels, then yes. Even being termed 'restomod', they've not gone too silly on the price. Fair play!

I'm a lover of alloys filling arches and stance etc and normally bigger = better for me.
But when it's wrong, it's wrong and this beautiful creation deserves a smaller wheel and meatier tyres.

Greta to see the rest of it though. Lovely

Very nice and one of BMW's best looking cars too. Just scrap the naff M logo on the seats and dump the wheels. Bingo.

Good grief that's brilliant.

A lottery win would leave my front drive littered in restomods.

I must be getting old because I think those wheels are too big.
Agreed - I must be older still, as I feel i'd rather just get an 850CSI! I don't think that the (relatively) revvy nature of the S62 would suit the chassis aswell as the S70b56 - attractive though it may be, the 8 series is definitely a 'tourer' as opposed to anything sporting or athletic. Looks a well done conversion though aside from those revolting wheels.

As lovely as it looks, I'm struggling to see the point over restoring a standard one.

The deep dish 5 spoke allows on the old E34/E38 models would have been perfect.

What a beauty.

There is a bloke around the corner from me who has an e39 M5 and he looks like he got it to restore. I mean at the time of writing he’s de-badged it very poorly and looks like someone needs to rescue it from him ffs.

Couldn't agree more. Wheels ruin what is otherwise perfect!

I think it's how one values a manual plus another 100+ bhp. And presumably it's a refreshed car (doubt it's a full on rebuild). Still, sub 30k gets an excellent, low mileage automatic 840Ci, horses for courses I suppose.
Personally, I reckon the wise money goes on a 850CSi.

it looks like the painted the outside lip of the rim with a black line and forgot to put tyres on it
I do like the rest a lot - never liked the 8 when it was new, but I think it aged very nicely

The wheels are def too big. And I would keep the V12, it's what makes this car... just make it bigger for more power. M70/73 can be enlarged to 6 litres of displacement.
I'm with you I think too. You can get loads of cars with V8 engines, but not so many with V12's though. So I'd prefer the original engine left in, but with some tweaks/upgrades to it as you say.

Very much this. Horrid wheels but easily swapped for some equally cool period correct BMW things.

Love that, but lose those ugly wheels for the BBS cross spoke type.

Awful, awful wheels. M badge on the back bit naff as well
My thoughts exactly. Smaller wheels, deeper tyres, and remove the "//Middle Management" badge. They're so prevalent these days the wife is thinking of removing the //M badges from her Z4MC so it stands out from the crowd.
