All BMW engined cars are exempt - its an EU rule. tongue out Sadly, I only have a BMW gearbox cry

That sign is an example from the website, so you know what they look like, not what is actually at Rouen, which is nothing. Avoid Rouen has always been good advice

Yes. You need a Green sticker.
Thanks, it wasn't super-clear. I ordered one.

We kindly request you to find as attachment your invoice relative to the Air Quality Certificate order concerning the registered vehicle xxxx xxx.

Your certificate will soon be sent by mail at the address indicated during your order.
In the wait , this invoice allows you to prove your approach and the classification of your vehicle.
So I don't have the physical sticker but I do have a pdf which should be sufficient to avoid any problems... pretty quick.

It’s official, taken from the Le Mans Reddit channel

Official Response: Crit-Air Sticker (for LM24h driving 2023)
Having had an at-length email discussion with the people who run the French Crit'Air service and researched all I can, I have the following guidance for drivers to this year's LM24h.

- ****You do need a Crit'Air registration this year if you are going to drive through Rouen**** This absolutely includes any route through, especially the "main dual carriageway" to bridge route used by most
- Foreign vehicles are not exempt. At all.
- Allegedly it would be possible for French police to note a massive number of foreign tourists to be using Rouen in cars that might not be Crit'Air registered, and potentially it would be easy to undertake a low-effort high-reward project in which these vehicles were flagged in and stopped southbound (approaching the weekend) and/or returning for 24hrs from mid afternoon Sunday if one were so inclined and make a lot of money
- Rental vehicles are not exempt. If you have to take one, the owner of the vehicle has to apply for one, and whilst you may be stopped, you can show the invoice/receipt to police
Order yours in advance. It's only about £5.

I normally avoid Rouen but look at this just in case I had to drive through. I put my 1996 Griff details in and it said it was not allowed in at all?

Indeed. This is where the French scheme differs from the British schemes. There's no option to pay a fee to enter the zone in a non-qualifying vehicle.

Thanks for the confirmation on the zone and no routes through.

Has the change to a minimum standard of Crit Air sticker 2 (previously thought to come in March 2023?) now been pushed back to 2025? So quite a big change for cars (petrol euro 2 & 3 and diesel euro 4) still allowed this year?

Fairly sure this site has changed

Same with my 2.8i For Capri, it seems my choices are 1: Avoid Rouen or 2: Make a midnight dash through the town and hope the french cops don't notice my apocalyptically loud vintage coupe blasting through without a Crit'Air sticker of any description whatsoever in the 8 minutes it would take me to carve through the streets from one side of the zone to the other.

Me too, but still no help for classics, as they haven't passed that part of the law yet.

Avoid Rouen is a rule we've been following for 30 years

Le Mans is on the list for 2025 but the mayor is against it. Fingers crossed

It's very easy to get the permits. I have a place in France and have them for each of my cars.

Haha. Then you select your route carefully. Have permits for all 5 of my cars, but the oldest is 2006!
